I really only made this thread so I could say that RNH is hurt. Apparently ( according to Oiler fans) he got manhandled by a SEDIN  in their game against the Canucks and is now injured.

You should have to voluntarily retire if a Sedin ever manhandles you.

Maybe the Oilers shouldn't waste their #1 picks on guys made of Lego.

Pierre LeBrun said in a tweet that his bottom 3 teams are Edmonton, Columbus and Florida in that order. I think that's being very generous based on the current lineup, which is honestly by far the worst roster on paper in the league.

He ranked them based off 5on5 goals for/goals against ratio. Edmonton & Columbus were tied at 0.50 with Florida in last with 0.48.

McLean on the FAN today...

Steinberg: a lot of people had Calgary 14th or 15th this year

McLean: yeah I had them 13th or 14th

Steinberg: you've seen them a few times, have you seen anything to suggest they might be better than that?

McLean: no, not really

Yeah the Ducks are a bit of a surprise, although they did finish last season really strong after a horrible start. Looking at the playoff picture (!) I simply wish that we had young talent to get excited about that's all not picking a fight or trying to piss anyone off. I've been a flames fan since Eric vail and willi plett days.

But the thing is, we DO have young talent. Non-proven I'll admit, but it's pretty exciting. I mean think if Baertschi-Jankowski-Gaudreu-Brodie-Street-Horak etc all hit there sealings, then the FLAMES will have that 'exciting young talent' .

You know, for a team with all of that high falutin talent they sure don't score a lot of goals.

In 10 games they've scored 24 goals

The Flames who aren't supposed to have a lot of offensive talent have scored 20 goals in 7 games for a near 3.0 per game.

Their defense is terrible, Dubnyk has been surprisingly good this year and bailed them out over and over again.

As much as we keep hearing that the Oilers are building something special, they're not building a good team, they're building a good hockey card collection.

And for god sakes did anyone see the Tayler Hall interview, put a bolt through his throat and the guy can play a dumber version of frankenstein.

Tyler Seguin hasn't been lighting it up on the scoreboard, so I'm not sure why he's being mentioned here.

Hall is easily the least of my worries for this team. Eberle is looking a lot like Comrie, RNH hasn't been the same since his shoulder injury last year and the team has zero depth whatsoever.

I don't think he regrets it one bit. He's getting exactly what he wanted from Edmonton. He'll have as much minutes in as many different situations as possible. He'll play a tonne and put up points. This is exactly what he wanted, not caring about being apart of a winner, but putting up points. He's setting himself up nicely for a huge next contract. More opportunity to do that in Edmonton then with he ducks.

I didn't mention Sequin at all period. Hall came across a bit whiny and overly stupid in that interview, on top of that pulling a hot shot move like that without any setup was comically dumb.

I would take Sequin 10 time out of 10 before I took Hall, I said it on draft day that drafting Hall over the TS was possibly one of the dumbest moves that Lowe made and showed that he is as has been scientifically proven a moron when it comes to team building.

Possibly, but Anaheim was guaranteeing him a roster spot immediately after the Badgers season ended.

Bruce Boudreau: "I don't know what the heck happened there. We were in Chicago and we still weren't playing great and I talked to the kid straight up and said we could use you right now on the big club. We won't send you to the Crunch, as soon as you're through with Wisconsin we'll get you down there on the ice. The kid looked me right in the eye and said I can't wait coach, it's what I've always wanted. We also told him since we were playing him now it would move him one year closer to making millions of dollars. The kid seemed really excited and it seemed like a done deal when all of a sudden something dramatically changed. Someone got to the kid, it seems. I don't know exactly what happened but there's something fishy in Denmark." (sic)

2. I didn't catch the interview since I was watching the Dallas Stars feed, what did he say?
3. This isn't even top 50 in worst Kevin Lowe moves. Not that Lowe was GM, but that's a different story lol.
4. The CSB had 9 out of 10 scouts rank Hall ahead of Seguin.

I wonder why such a clumsy, dumb, inefficient player has more career points as Seguin and higher PPG. I think they're both close, but to say one is far ahead of the other right now is a stretch in my opinion.

Seguin might be off to a average start offensively (6 points in 9 games), but he is a wizard in his own zone compared to Hall. Maybe it's because he improved his two-way game while playing in Boston, but he is far more defensively responsible than any forward on the Oilers roster.

He was second last year in the NHL's +/- to Bergeron with a +34, and is already a +7 last year. Even the #1 Oilers fan Ferraro had him on team Canada as a defensive center, while Hall was nowhere to be seen.

Not saying Hall isn't a very good player, but I wouldn't consider him great yet, and not in the top 50 players like TSN had him this year.

Edit: Oh and Boston is obviously more of a team that is going to rely on winning tight scoring games, rather then the run and gun style the Oilers use, so obviously their player stats will suffer. Right now Krejci leads their team in scoring with 9 points, then a bunch of players are second with 6. But then when you look at their goals against, then only have 19 goals against (7 which came against Buffalo in one game).

I'd say Rask should be the early front runner for the Vezina at the moment. He is just a stellar goalie.

Well, Viktor Fasth has a cinderella story written up to this day.

Guy was nobody, played in Division 2 & Division 1 in Sweden, kind of good, then AIK (Swedish "Elitserien" team") took a shot on him, and he shined there, got a shot in Sweden's international team, did not fail. Except for the 6-1 Final versus Finland ;D.

But he's a Luongo, can't handle big games.

A great Wednesday doubleheader on TSN. What an Original 6 game, forever rivals Bruins-Habs and the Bruins with those 2 quickies early in the 3rd period to win it 2-1 in reg time. Tukka Rask was great. Watching the highlights, I liked Emrick's call on NBCSN from the opening faceoff of the 3rd to the tying goal. Thanks to the Stars and Jagr winning it 3-2 in OT, do it in reg time for the next game. Like Trojan97 said, Oilers are brutal scoring 5 on 5. Nice to see the Oilers game delayed a little (10 minutes) to ensure no switching to TSN2 or missing any action. A great SHUTOUT for Fasth and the Ducks on the road, 3-0 over the Avs. Koivu with 2 points, Selanne with an assist.
