We have 13 for the Head to Head league thus far. Pagal, who has been the commish in previous years, has sent me the league information and I will be sending it out as soon as possible.

The Points league does not seem to have the same interest. If we cannot get at least 10 in the league, I'll have to shut it down for this year.

I'm fine with having 12 teams or 20 teams. Doesn't matter to me. I'm in the process of transferring the commish duties from Pagal, who is unable to play this year. Once I get commish powers, I'll get the yahoo info out.

Also, does Beerfest exist on CP anymore? Has he signed up again under another name? He/she may not want to play either.

Since games will start Saturday, the draft has been set for 2:00 EST (noon Calgary time) on Friday. If you cannot make the live draft you can organize your draft list and your team will be drafted for you.

It's probably too late now but I think having an IR spot may be a mistake. With this many teams and so many roster spots I think you should have to make a decision whether you want to cut a player who is on IR or stash him on your bench. As it is we are going to be picking a lot of unheralded players just to fill out the teams.

Like always with yahoo it wouldn't open and then at the last minute it finally loaded for me and it had already drafted my first guy. Luckily I drafted first and picked up Crosby, haha

Edit: It says the league doesn't even start until January 28. Is it because the draft didn't finish until after 12? That sucks.

You'd have to redo draft to make that fair. Shots is a pretty bad category anyways. Rewarding a stat that is not on the scoreboard.

Why would we need to re-draft? FOW and hits are fair categories and I thought would be counted.

Everything is worth 1 point. It's head-to-head so at the end of the week everything is tallied and whose ever tally is higher/better, they win the category.

Though it would be nice if we could count Hits and FOW too. They are important categories. I chose certain players because I thought hits would count, it's why a lot of d-men are chosen. Especially for an 18 team league, the "gritty" categories are important.

I don't think I've ever been in a league that counted fow and hits actually. I don't think it is that common for fantasy pools. Even the "fantasy experts" online pool only put in hits for the first time this year.

I kept the scoring categories the same as has been used in previous seasons. I'm not going to include hits or face off wins this year as it may have changed who some GMs would have drafted if those categories were included.

If the majority of GMs want to include hits and face off wins (two arbitrary stats in my opnion - highly dependent on who is doing the stat keeping) they can be included next year.

When we drafted, we drated with certain categories in mind. If you add new stat categories then you change the success of individual players, hence a re-draft would be necessary to make things fair. Without a re-draft you're literrally changing the rules part-way through the game.

^Yeah that was a nailbiter. When Jeff Carter got the GWG in the last game of the night for you, I wasn't sure who held the tie-breaker between us. It could have gone either way. Yes, I've won 3 out of the last 4 years but the last two years in a row I've won on a tie-breaker.

With the facelift to Yahoo!'s fantasy hockey, I can't seem to track down the projected games per position section now. Since I can remember you were able to see how many games you had remaining per position. Any idea where I can find it?

I dont think there is that option to limit GP anyways so it's probably not there anymore. I tested by creating a league and going through all the settings.

There are no limits to games played in head to head leagues AFAIK. It had previously been an option for standard scoring leagues, but no for H2H.

During the draft, it was stated that there would be a goalie mininum for games played before GAA and SV% counted. Doesn't seem to be the case. The stats kick in after 1 game.

The goalie stats count during the week and then, at the end of the week and the minimum (3 starts) have not been met, the goalie stats become null.

The first week is also a special week as stats from the first two weeks (Oct 1st -13th) are used. Starting on the 14th, stats will be tabulated for 7 days instead of 13.
