Hey all,

Any suggestions for your favourite Irish/Celtic/Newfie songs for tomorrow?

Can never have enough music on hand. Tomorrow will be a LONG day for me (I DJ on the side at an Irish pub in Airdrie....)

Love this Captain Tractor's tune (they are from Edson I believe.)

May not be Irish, but goes over very well!

LOL, some great suggestions so far. Had a few of them, but don't have others. Thanks everyone, and keep them coming!

The Real Mckenzies to a cover of the song "Bugger Off" that Bootless and Unhorsed made famous.

NSFW due to language, but funny and good for a closing song....

LOL, yeah that is another good cover. As I indicated above Bootless and Unhorsed are the original artists (and their version is linked.)

Definitely cool cover though. Thanks!

When I was in Ireland last summer you couldn't walk into a pub without hearing these 2 songs. They were my favourite of all the pub tunes I heard...

Saw Doctors - N17

I suppose this is now unofficially the St. Paddy's thread this year. Happy St. Pats fellas! (and ladies) Best dang day of the year. Planning on being at the pub by 1:30, I play for keeps!

I am heading there right NOW! I play for everyone (literally).

Thanks all for the suggestions. There were definitely some that I didn't have and will use.

Happy St Paddys!

Beauty, I hope the music at the place we're going to has the same belief in using authentic tunes as you are. One of my only requests on St. Pats is authentic Irish music, and none of that slow, cry me a river stuff either. I want Ashley MacIsaac-type speed, man that stuff makes me wanna booze. Such a letdown when the bar you're at doesn't play Irish tunes.

The Dubliners are fantastic if you want nonsad Irish music.

I love that I grew up on the East Coast, so much great Celtic music year around. There's no music better to drink to than Celtic music.

Slainte Mhath to you all

Alas I'm just wearing generic green today, one of these year's I'll have a vintage WWF Jake Roberts t-shirt for this occasion.

Kent Brockman (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/name/nm0790434/): Ladies and gentlemen, what you are seeing is a total disregard for the things St. Patrick's Day stand for. All this drinking, violence, destruction of property. Are these the things we think of when we think of the Irish?

Kent Brockman (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/name/nm0790434/): Top of the morning to ye on this gray, grizzly afternoon. Kent O'Brockman live on Main Street, where today everyone is a little bit Irish, except, of course, for the gays and the Italians.

Thanks everyone once again.

What.... a..... party..... Holy crap.

We usually just run the sound system I have installed in the pub which is more than enough, but yesterday I also brought in my full rig for the restaurant side as well and wired it all together.

It was freakin' rockin'!!

Not only was it St Paddys, it was also my 200th event at that pub so that was a nice way to celebrate it.

Again, thank you all.

Heck, I was just the under card on this one too Dion! Rob and Roxy from "Clay Pigeon" were the main event for the live entertainment.

But I certainly had a workload. I started playing at 3 PM and ended at 2:30 AM. Rob and Roxy played 4 one hour sets starting at 6 PM (them an hour, then me an hour).

They are a fun duo and it is always a blast when we get together.
