Terrestrial radio? What's that?

/smug

I listen to:

X92.9
960 (only during Jim Rome)
660
1010 (I'm some sort of pink-commie latte lover)

Sorry, this isn't Forbes, I was just curious what every listens to. I am thinking of paying for a radio advertisement and wanted to know which station was listened to by most.

I listen to static. AM101 is my favourite because their static sounds the most crisp.

There are stats out there that can tell you what listenership numbers are like.
CP is only a mere fraction of Calgarians, and you'd get an even smaller fraction of CPers who'd respond to this thread.

If you tune the static just right during a lightning storm, you can hear the static change. Anyway...

I used to like x92.9, but that smarmy morning host Fraser doing the disaffected Chandler Bing / Dennis Miller schtick irritates the hell out of me. Same with Forbes but for different reasons..

I usually go between 90.3, 97.7 and 98.5 when there's nothing interesting on CBC or FAN960.

Fan960 gets about 99% of my radio's time
660News gets 1% - mostly during crap weather days, when I want to know the road report

If I want to listen to music I have my iPOD.

I like Fraser as a DJ because he doesn't do the typical cheery, cheese-ball DJ routine most morning hosts do. He works well with Roger. Plus they have a mean streak which I relate to.

Fan960 in the morning. I've always liked Boomer and with Rhett now it is clicking.
x92.9 but I really don't care for Roger. I do like Frasier and most of the other on air folk.
Eagle 100.9 - I'm over 40 so I'm allowed
JackFM - I actually like Eric Francis but maybe that's because comparatively Matt O'Neil has gotten annoying.

I agree with x92.9 being good because they aren't acting super-excited over what happened on <insert reality show name>. I thought they were still a lot better off before Fraser came in. I enjoyed the unpolishedness of the morning show before then. It reminded me of the early Late Night with David Letterman episodes. Fraser, while I find him annoying, brought in some experience that makes it seem less like a youthful radio station.

Whatever happened to that girl on the x929 morning show?

That's what I listen to mostly. Everytime I flip it to vibe in the morning they are talking about American Idol or the Bachelor or other tv shows that I don't watch. zzz

I listen to CBC Radio 2 Drive on the way home. Mornings I flick to get my driving info, weather info etc. Then tune in to either CBC am ro Radio 2. If I'm out driving other than to work I just constantly flick to get to a song I like whatever the channel.

I only listen to the Fan960 when I listen to local radio in the mornings and sometimes in the afternoon. The radio in this city for music is horrible so I prefer to listen to Naach Radio online.

Satellite radio when I had my receiver, lent to a friend 4 months ago for a trip he was taking. Still haven't got it back, the subscription has been cancelled.

I mostly listen to QR77, morning, evening, and night.
When I want to listen to music it's X92.9, and when that sucks I switch to CJAY, and when that sucks I hit the CD button, and when that sucks, repeat.

I need a new head unit with MP3 capability and sat radio.

Candice got a job in Ontario. I still really enjoy the X929 morning show, but she was a pretty important piece of the puzzle imo. Having 2 guys is decent, but I much prefer having a female point of view in there.

I'm confused with Roger. I'm a left leaning guy and he's more right, yet I find myself agreeing with him a ton. Usually when people spout off about their political beliefs they go hard one way or the other and it's off-putting to me (left and right). He presents his views in a very intelligent way so even when I don't agree with him I at least respect what he has to say.

CJAY92 drives me nuts. I just find it pathetic that grown men in their 40's and 50's sit around making d*ck jokes and talking about drinking all the time. The next old guy to use the word "wobbly pop" is going to be the reason I develop an ulcer. I get that ripping on homosexuals is hilarious and it's what the kids do, but they lay it on so thick that it just comes off as obnoxious. For a bunch of straight guys they think about gay men all. the. time.

Agree with the CjAY hate. Those are the kind of loud mouthed idiots I avoided in high school. Most overrated/overpaid radio personality ever.

She looks a lot better in person. I saw her at the CBC studios when they were doing the open house last year, and she was hot.

When I lived in Calgary, it was fan960, or cds/mp3.
I'm a bit of a music snob, so I understand that there's never going to be a radio station that caters to what I would like to hear. That being said, Calgary has some of the worst selection in radio for any place I've ever spent significant time.

660 News - on the way to work.
Fan 960 - for the games when on the road.
Q 107 or Kool - which ever doesn't have commercials playing.

I miss Fuel 90.3! So much better than C-Jay.
