What is Hockey Prognosticating?

In the game, participants pick the winners of a set of hockey games in a particular week and are placed in a knock-out system. Beat your opponent and move onto to the next round. It's easy, all you have to do is predict the winner of the match, the margin, and sometimes the score for a set of games listed.

Note:

- In case of a tie, a tie-breaker featuring winning margins or correct score will decide who moves on to the next round.


How to Sign-Up:

Just post here that you would like to play ("Im IN"). Entries will be based on The HPT rankings from two weeks prior. If you don't have a ranking, you can begin one! Anyone can enter! :D

How to send in picks:

Picks can be sent in as soon as the "GAME LIST" is ready. Remember, you pick a winner in every game on the list! Picks should be sent by PM, so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks should be titled: [HPT: World Junior 1st Round]. Picks must be sent in by the deadline stated in the GAME LIST.

At this time of year there's likely to be at least one person that fails to get their picks in. Perhaps it'd be easier to have us submit our picks then do up the brackets last minute once the deadline hits and you know exactly how many people are in.

I'd fire any coach that has a zero fore-checker system when playing with the lead... just brutal... the Finnish coach dug their grave once they were up 2 :confused:

I've never understood the logic of changing a gameplan or system that garnered the lead in the first place... make the other team adapt first, my goodness, that should be obvious to anyone.

This happens in the NHL too, we don't need to look any further than our beloved Flames, makes no sense to me.

Pretty happy with the result considering that it's my first tournament, never thought I'd reach the final. Enjoyed the tournament so expect me to participate more often :D
