I have Windows live movie maker now but it's not really good. Unless I'm not understanding it at all it only allows me to pretty much caption videos and cut/trim them.

so does the power of CP have any ideas?

what do you need it to do? the samsung camera i have comes with video editing software embedded into it which i thought was decent enough to do basic things (transitions, captions, music, effects)

Any time I need free software, I google it with "open source" in front of it. Googling "open source video editor" came up with http://www.cinefx.org/cinefx/ and http://www.openmovieeditor.org/, but just know that I've never used either one.

Thanks a lot!

I'm making a short video that I have to do for speech class. I'm doing should fighting be taken out of hockey. I wanted a short video of staged fights, retaliation fights, ect. But I don't want the garbage that is before the fight and after just the raw physical part of it.

This way I can hack my videos up into short short segments and put them on a power point presentation for my speech.

BTW I ended up finding NCH video pad editor last night. It's free as long as you don't use it commercially
