Text book definition of a blindsite hit to the head.
I know this could have went into the PGT , but I feel it deserves it's own thread so it can get as much publicity as possible so the NHL can't just sweep this hit under the rug.
Should get a few games, wouldn't be surprised to see him get nothing. League and the "wheel of justice" is a joke.

3 games would be adequate.
I disagree. If Jokinen got 3 then Staal should get 6. Total lack of respect to his fellow player, had the oppurtunity to let up but didn't and drove forearm/elbow into his head. That is complete bs and he needs to be punished severely for it. But of course he won't because he hit a Flames player.
I don't even think you could call that hit "grey area". Pretty blatant right to the head. Not thinking about a suspension right now though, I'm more concerned about losing another key player.
It's a good thing Olli is back next game.

No it really isn't.
It is the text book definition of a hit the receiving player did not see.
A blind side hit is one coming from a lateral or backside position, Staal was approaching Stajan from the front but Stajan wasn't paying attention as he was too busy admiring his pass.
These are the types of hits you hate to see but I actually doubt it will lead to a suspension. You can't suspend someone just because a player gets injured.

I'm not even going to relpy to anything you say because it is quite clear you love to play Devil's advocate and don't believe half of what you say.
I too think a long time. This is the kind of concussion that can lead to a difference in a players entire career. Stajan was absolutely rocked and his head took a major impact. He wasn't even wobbly afterwords, he couldn't figure out how to stand up period.
