maybe there is nothing going on behind the scenes, and the Sutters just think that Staios is a more valuable player than Sarich. Darryl did afterall go out of his way to bring him here, knowing full well that he had another year left on his contract. he must have seen something he liked
Totally disappointed that Sarich hasn't laced up for us yet. He'd better get the call on Saturday. I'm hoping that Staios is his usual self, and gets a few lazy penalties tonight, to help make a case for Sarich.
If they won't let Sarich prove how good he is, at least Staios should show the coaching staff (again) how un-good he is.
Staios played 18 games for the Flames last season. In 16 of the 18, he had more ice time (sometimes, substantially more) than Sarich. Seems to indicate the coaching staff has more faith in him than Sarich, so perhaps today shouldn't be a surprise
Sarich has a NMC. Sutter has said before (behind close doors) that he doesn't care about handing out NMC's, cause 'You can always make the player waive it'. My ASSUMPTION with this is that Sutter found a trade for Sarich, and he refused to waive his NMC, so Sutter is doing his best to persuade him to waive it.
I am guessing that a deal was made to move Sarich in the last 60 days, and I am also guessing that we have seen the last of Sarich in a Flames uniform. He will either agree to the deal (if it still exists), or sit in the box.
Personally, from what I know from behind close doors, I would think with 80% certainty that this is the case.

Well 76.25% of us agree with you.... but we could all be wrong....

I doubt it. So you are saying management is dictating to Brent Sutter what his line up must be?
