Maybe I'm reaching for something here but this comment from Sarich a couple days ago seems to allude to a specific problem.

If you are trying to insinuate that he's injured, I took exaclty the opposite out of that. I think he's annoyed by being asked because he's healthy and has to explain that he's a healthy scratch.

Someone should let sarich know that we haven't figured out what is going on! He needs to spell it out more!
haha umm guys, I think what he was referring to was that WE (the flames fans) haven't figured out what's going on, and that he should spell it out a little more so we get some more insight as to what Sutter's big plans are. lol

And when I say that I mean we all assume that he's going to be traded, it's just a matter of time till we find out when, where, and who/what we are getting back in return
I have personally felt that since we did the big press conference at McMahon for the HC that Sarich, Staios and Glencross will all end up traded this year. I really hope Glencross doesn't get traded, and would rather Staios go than Sarich, but I feel it is one of those things where we'll look back and all three who first donned the HC Jersey will be traded before the season is over.
Staal is #11, correct? Maybe that's why Backlund was given #11... makes the jersey swap that much easier.
This might also help to explain the Morrison deal if Staal isn't going to be 100% for a little while...
I would be happy with that trade from the Flames perspective. The fact you added Backlund to the deal doesn't make it seem too far fetched. I do have some serious doubts Pitt would make this deal, you gotta think they want a top line winger over another centre and shutdown D.
If he isn't being traded, I'm gonna join the fire sutter band wagon.
You usually want to play a player being shopped, so that other teams scouts can have a look at him. I don't see why you would sit someone, if you want to trade him.
Right now its just a numbers game, Brodie gets his 10 games and see where he is at after that.
If anything the decision to play Pardy mean't to me he was the one being shopped....he gets injured and bam there goes the plan.
