Icon59 Oilers vs. Sharks series preview

#2 Vs. #8

Regular Season Records

Sharks 52-27-7-2-117 356GF 265 GA CPHL Rank #2
Oilers 41-39-6-2-90 296GF 278 GA CPHL Rank #13

Regular Season Games
Sharks 3 vs Oilers 2
Sharks 6 vs Oilers 5
Oilers 0 vs Sharks 14
Oilers 2 vs Sharks 1

Forwards

The Sharks are lead by the dynamic duo of Daniel Briere and Sidney Crosby. These two centeres are flanked by a talented collection of wingers that includes Shane Doan, Martin Havlat, Marian Hossa, Slava Kozlov and Alexander Frolov. Thats only their top 6.

The Oilers are epically outmatched here as the collection of Michael Cammalleri, Martin Erat, Brendan Shanahan, Patrick Sharp, Katie Perry, Martin Straka, and Antoine Vermette can't even hold the Sharks guys jocks let alone match up to them in hockey. Although Perry would probably scare them if they passed out drunk at a party by trying to make out with them.

Defence

Just when Oiler fans thought it couldn't get worse, it does. This is so one sided it is funny. Niedermayer, Pronger, Allen, Havelid, Ranger....all better than the Oilers best defenceman. Even if Willie Mitchell is the best shut down defenceman in real hockey right now by a frickin country mile.

Goal

One team has a Vezina nominee here...yeah again the Sharks really have the better player in Tim Thomas. Lucky for the Oilers Luongo is rated better for now.

What to expect....well the Sharks got their scare and woke up to win 3 in a row. I think you can bet your house, kids, functioning anatomy, or anything else you value presciously that the Sharks will win this series and that it will be over in 5 or less games and probably in 4.

Ryan has a phenominal team that I really have no hope in beating. Unless the SIM curses him with some serious injuries and I get some epic overachievement out of my team. My run ends here. Too bad, I'd like to stop the Sharks here and limit the amount of cap they collect in playoff winnings so that they might have to trade a player or two this offseason and lose a free agent.

Good preview. I think the Oilers will pull another upset.

Nice preview! Your pessimism is a nice attempt to make my team feel overconfident but after having to come back versus the Preds in round one, I'm going to make sure they don't take your Oilers lightly.

The Oilers chemistry to finish the season and the Sharks lack there-of are what evens this series out in my opinion and I think it's going to be a tough series all the way.

You sir have the words pessimism and truth mixed up. Simply put I'll need a couple things like injury luck and more hot goaltending if I want to have much chance in this series. Difference between this series and last series is that The Wilds top players had bad series, than a couple injuries had them basically trying to beat me with 7 forwards while I was playing 11. Your top guys were pretty big in your first round for you. If those guys keep producing, I won't last very long.
