So I'm headed into my second year of university next year and my family is looking to either buy a house or a condo or something in Calgary. So I suppose what I'm asking is are any of you real estate agents around here? Or know of anybody who's selling a house? I'm looking at getting a four bedroom dealio that I can split with some buddies. We'd also be interested in renting something (maybe).
And if anybody has any tips about dealing with certain real estate agents, or really house stuff in general, it'd be greatly appreciated!
Oh and what's an average price for a house and a condo right now? We found a sick condo but it's 300 grand...is that stupid high?
I'm a BC realtor, would will gladly give you my free opinion on any listings. Just need more info then that.
If you want to buy in greater Van, I'm selling 400 condos in the next 5 days; let me know.
As unbelievable as it sounds, that's actually pretty cheap in the scheme of things.
It's hard to get 4 bedrooms anywhere for under even $250 000
Well I think it's three bedrooms plus an office...which we could just make into another bedroom. Here it is
HHH...I'm gonna be here for seven years for sure, maybe more if I decide I still want to hack it in the city after that. No doubt there will be the odd shaker going down though haha.
I_am_Beast, thanks for the info. I might give her a call in the next few days depending on the parental climate.
Thanks for the offer Winsor but I'm in Calgary. Some opinions on listings would be really helpful though...I'm awfully new to all this crazy stuff haha.

Those places are alright in terms of size, however because the hospital is right next door, parking is absolutely horrible and you will constantly have a helicopter flying over your place at a low altitude (STARS).

I'd never considered the helicopter issue...do you really think they're that loud and there that frequently? I have no idea as to how many times a week STARS would land there...and then there's the issue of the ambulance as well I suppose.
yes,
not only that.. it's not live (current)... meaning I just had a client ask to see a condo that they found on the MLS and in my system it's showing that it was sold back in May.

Any particular reason as opposed to Ontario which does?
e.g. Say the OP believes that he has potentially 3 bedrooms and an office. It would save him a lot of time to know the dimensions of said rooms before deciding whether or not to visit. Or the bedroom sizes so he knows the chances of him renting out the room?
