The Colorado Avalanche would like to inform the league that they have this evening accepted a trade request from goaltender Rick DiPietro. Avs GM said "Rick is going to be a premier goaltender in this league and understandably wants the kind of ice-time that he cant get here right now, therefore we grudgingly have agreed to listen to offers for him"

The GM went on to stress this was no fire-sale and that they were looking to strengthen at d and lw and scoring through centre.

Speaking of 'tenders, as most of you already know, Sean Burke is being shopped as well. He's a good goalie...just a little old for our tastes. The target return should be a younger goalie, not less than 75 OV and no older than 35, PERIOD. With Kipper's injury not extended from "3 weeks" to "indefinitely", I'm not interested in trading my top goalie for a backup. Picks are definitely available.

Burke has played very well, and might be a good fix for anybody unhappy with the play of their starter.

LOL Why don't you add much cheaper while you are at it?

that'd be nice, yeah. Only it'd be tough to get anybody to go for it. It's very simple, really, older than 35 solves nothing. Age is the problem. Less than 75 OV and I have no true starter...may as well have kept Boucher. Any difference in value between the goalies can be made up with draft picks or other compensation
