Whoops, I posted too soon. Lemme fix that for ya.

A win tonight would do much to erase the sour taste left in my mouth after the Montreal game.

Tonight's game is as close to a garenteed loss as there is. This is the perfect game to start Curtis M. as no point in letting Kipper get shelled coming off a night where he got outplayed by the other teams backup. If Keenan starts Kipper and keeps Bertuzzi on the top line Sutter is going to have to do something as player management this year has been abysmal.

Another 4-1 loss. The puck possession style exposes Calgary's slow footed D-man. Another no show for the top 6. Bert trys at least one behind the back pass that leads to a turnover.

Have you observed how the Flames play in Joe Louis? It's not just that Detroit is the better team it's that the Flames usually play an undisciplined, poor overall effort like they don't expect to win from the opening faceoff. So if they don't expect to win why should I expect them to?

Plus the Flames struggle against good skating/stickahandling teams and Detroit happens to be the best at that.

Given that Bertuzzi prefers to play on his backhand, perhaps he should get a stick that's curved the other way?
Given that they just got to DET at 4 am, this looks like a blowout... which probably means they'll surprise with a win. I really don't know - I am 50/50 on 6-2 loss or 3-2 win. I already feel sorry for Pardy in this game.

Not saying it aint gonna be tough. Do I think they will win?? Probably not, but I'm not willing to write them off 8 hours before the game starts. And if you believe that they are gonna get killed, what purpose does it serve to put Mcelhinney in net?? How is that good for any kind of confidence for himself and the confidence that the team would have in him??

And don't give me this they don't expect to win garbage....are you in the dressing room?? Are you in the players heads?? No, so that point is ridiculous.

no doubt... is he the early favorite for the horns tonite? My vote goes to Sarich.. He manages to play himself to a trade tonite.

As Erik said, this is a guaranteed loss. Flames suck against Detroit, suck in the Joe, played last night while Detroit sat at home and ate bon-bons, and didn't get to their hotel until 4am. Chalk it up now, the Flames lose in a blowout. 6-1 sounds about right.

I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it. This team is pretty quick to look for an excuse to not play well, and there are many built in excuses for tonight.

Wow during a winning streak it's all rainbow and buttercups, after one loss the trade talk starts again, the talk of no confidence, and so on and so forth. Rather silly wouldn't you think?

I've got no expectations of this game, I thought they'd get 4 points on this trip, and they have, anything above that would be fantastic.
That being said the team is playing very well lately, but they got into Detroit at 4am, so let's see if that affects them at all.

Holy crap, the Wings are the Edmonton of last year! We actually have one more win than them? If it werent for the abundance of loser points we'd be looking good....

Same goes for Montreal, after their win last night they have as many wins as the Flames do.

I don't think it's going to be pretty tonight, unless Detroit really doesn't show up. We better trap like we've never trapped before, or our D is going to get pantsed on every rush.

On a side note, I had a dream that we traded Phaneuf for Lecavalier. It was a crazy dream. (Bet you all wanted to hear about that one )
