Oilers GM Sylvanfan commented after Canada's WJC triumph today that he was pleased with how 3 of the 4 players who are Oilers property played in today's 7-3 win by Canada over Slovakia. "I was pleased with how Jeff Carter performed, he's develloping into the type of player you hoped he would become on draft day. Although his goal was not particularly impressive, I like how he uses his size down low, and how well he handles the puck with a defenceman draped all over him. The other guy for Canada who I really liked today was Colin Fraser, the guy gives it all on every shift, and is great on faceoffs. He's tenacious, and showed pretty good skills setting up a nice goal, and creating some other chances for himself. I thought Cam Barker was a bit nervous at times in his own end of the rink. He handles the puck well in the offensive zone, but I feel that Cam has some better games in him. He's an 86 birthday, and I'm not worried with one average game. I really liked the gamesmanship I saw from Slovak captain, Andrej Meszaros. This guy is a tough player, and although his team was beaten soundly today, I thought Meszaros made some terrific plays, and that he will definitely be one of the Oilers top 4 one day alongside Bouwmeester, Hamhuis, and Barker."

Kings GM icarus was moderately satisfied with the play of Patrice Bergeron and Dion Phaneuf.

The Panthers are very happy to see Crosby playing like a true champion!

Hawks confirmed earlier comments that Hawks will not draft Sydney Crosby even if they will get 1st overall pick.

"With so many young small skilled centers like Hudler, Bouchard, Cammalleri, Roy and Bergenheim there's no point in bringing in one more player of that style", said Hawks GM Pointman.

The Lightning were very impressed and happy with the play of Clarke Macarthur. He reaffirmed the reason why he was drafted into the organization and GM moon is excited about getting him into the line-up in the next few seasons.

Jeff Glass had a more difficult outing but much of that had to do with the poor play in front of him defensively at times. He did what was needed for his team to get the win and we are confident his play will only improve as the tournament goes on.

Are you nuts???

first of all he is better than all those players.

Secondly, you could always trade him or one of the others to improve your team in other areas.

But if you don't want to draft him that is your choice. It isn't as though my descions have my team leading the league.

I agree that I like what I saw from McArthur too. Him and Fraser were dangerous killing penalties all night, and the 4th line seldom had a bad even strength shift in the game. McArthur also showed that he can skate and he can score. I think that he's one of those guys who will turn out to be better than a lot of first rounders.

BS.

Why wouldnt you trade Dallas' first round pick then while they sit at the bottom of the league?

It's a bluff. A comment like that could artifically inflate the value of the potential bottom 5 teams' picks.
