Help me create a Calgary Puck article on Wikipedia
Yup... the article pretty much sums it up. I've got it started pretty good I think... I'm sure there is some bias in there so it will get cleaned up, but we need more reliable sources and references in there. So far I've done what I can to fulfill their notability guidelines, so hopefully it will stay for some time.
Please contribute constructively! Please fix any mistakes you see! My wikipedia-ing isn't perfect, but its a start.
Can someone please delete the "speedy deletion" tag? It's automatically placed on there and I cannot remove it myself. Thanks!

If you created this page and you disagree with its proposed speedy deletion, please add:
{{hangon}} directly below this tag, and then explain why you believe this article should not be deleted on its talk page. This will alert administrators to permit you the time to write your explanation. See help writing your first article.
just follow the instructions and they will give you more time to complete it.

Yeah... I did... I've written one before on another topic and it's been up there for months and months. It just takes one other user to delete the tag. I've followed the notability guidelines so it should be deleted soon.
You know you love Calgary Puck when you make a Wikipedia page about it.

NSFL=Not So Funny Lady. But I will also accept Not Safe For Life and Not Sober For Long.
I think you should add something about how Calgarypuck often goes beyond just a faceless messege board, as it sometimes leads to networking, aka the CP softball team, the book club, the annual Heckle etc.

We should also put the "official" Calgarypuck hockey jersey on there as well....
Once I get the actual jerseys back, I can add a picture to the article so people know that it is an actual jersey and not just a prottotype.

I think we should remove the nicknames for Ference, and other celebs. I think we should give Ference and other some semblence of privacy - we want to ENCOURAGE them being here.
One of many who is too boring; thinks that there should be rules regarding grammar in custom user titles, and also makes moderators wonder if there is a charachter limit here. I mean come on- you would think that would be a limitation in the software

FWIW, if the page is taken to AfD (Articles for Deletion), I have a hard time believing it will survive. What would be needed for the site to pass grade are articles and sources directly about Calgarypuck itself, not just those mentioning it. The Hale Storm article from the Herald might help, but even then, I'd think it will be deleted.

Yeah, it already had the tag and it's been removed now. I followed the notability guidelines and provided references so it won't be deleted.
Calgary Puckers often refer to re-posts of the same news articles or discussions as "Fata's" or "Red Hot Fata's". This refers to the disappointment in the Calgary Flames drafting of Rico Fata,
Don't know if that's really accurate. I don't recall that using a Fata had anything to do with the fact we didn't like him or that he sucked. Just that when he was waived there was 10 threads about it in a few minutes. Which was astonishing for someone who no one really liked.

Do you have the link the the Hale Storm story?
Most of the links (that work) would be considered "trivial" coverage - i.e.: thje article isn't about Calgarypuck, but simply mentions it. That would be the main issue with the links.
The best way to keep the article is to avoid making it look like a fansite page. i.e., stating that the site coined the "Hale Storm" nickname wouldn't suffice, but detailing what the Herald said about Calgarypuck and how it brought fans from across the country together with the Hale Storm fad would help. Does anyone have a copy of that article handy?

Yes that is far more correct. It's a Fata cause while there were repeat threads in the past, this particular topic spawn so many of them, and it was a weird topic to garner such interest.
I also agree that the nicknames of players and various admin types like Ken King should be left blank. We can say that they visit, answer questions, hold sessions, but let's keep the nicknames and e-mails for the users of the site saving their privacy.

Yeah that's the first thing that came to mind while reading the entry.
...well, that and those apostrophes in "Fata's" and "Red Hot Fata's."
(not to mention the whole Fata thing needs to be rewritten anyway )
