Sounds more like a journeyman and his agent trying to take advantage of Kevin Lowe's well-documented stupidity. Likely Katz now has a shorter leash on K-Lown than the EIG ever did.
That's true. I prefer Sutter's GM savvy in inking guys like Wayne Primeau for $1.4 million annually.

Strikes me as a guy that went on a nice little hot streak but over the long-term will be a 13th forward at best. Pass.
I don't know about that. In Columbus, Glencross was still scoring at a pace good enough to give himself 27 points over an 82 game season. That seems pretty decent for a guy getting limited minutes.
Curtis has made pretty big strides every season of his career all the way from being about 5th in scoring on his junior A team at 17.
I'd give the guy 1.0-1.3 over 2-3 seasons. He's shown that he can bring world class speed, grit, and energy every night, and his career has been trending the right way all down the stretch.

I think you need to be careful with players putting up career numbers. I think even Rene Corbet was almost a point a game player when he came here to finish that season. The one thing I do like about Glencross is his speed and how hard he works. I think your numbers you give him (1-1.3) sounds about right. I think maybe he is asking for a little bit more because he was such a good fit and maybe thinks that will or should translate into more.
When the Oilers first got Glencross.. I was just like 'meh'. But by the year end, I loved what he brought to the Oilers. First game as an Oiler, he got into a fight. Works hard, hits hard, skates hard. I think he won the fastest skater competition on the Oilers last year. Even if he doesn't continue his torrid scoring pace from last year, the guy is a solid 4th liner on any team. I really hope the Oilers sign him and trade Torres. He's from here and he seemed to fit in really well with the rest of the kids.
Knowing that GlenX prefers playing close to home, I could see Calgary being an attractive place for him if he can't get what he wants in Edm. Certainly a Darryl Sutter type of player.
And what better bargaining tool can you have if your Glencross.. than to threaten to sign with the Oilers biggest rival?
Weird, I really thought the Lowe would be all high and mighty to sign a Flame killer, and Katz would be given full reign to hide fat contracts in the minors?
Glencross, decent player but not for $1.5M. And if the Flames ever do get him, I sure hope we don't adapt Oil talk "GlenX"

Did the poster provide any sort of evidence for that, or was it standard message board "fluff"?
