Default trade deadline coming, pick who you'd like to stay

Poll question attached

select as many players of the current extended roster that you want to see next fall, should give us an idea of the weighted feelings to each player.

Keep budget in mind as well

Boyd, Conroy, Langkow, Lombardi, Tanguay, Iginla, Moss, Nolan, Aucoin, Phaneuf, Regehr, Sarich, Kipper, Nystrom.

I'd like Huselius to come back in the fall, but I don't see it happening.

I picked everyone but Nilson Warrener and Primeau. (though i don't actually think it is realistic to get rid of all 3)

Basically, I would like us to keep The remaining pending UFA's as I believe we are contenders (probably in the minority here)

Ideally, I'd like to see the Flames unload 1 or 2 the above players for picks, if possible, and then make maybe 1 deadline move for a better defenceman ,but not giving up another important roster player in the trade.

I picked everyone except our 3rd/4th line scrubs and Huselius. Boyd is 3-4 line guy but I want to keep him and Nystrom because they are part of our youth movement and I think Boyd can play a big role in this franchise in the coming years.

Huselius has been heavily debated, it will be interesting to see the distibution between him, tanguay and langkow regarding who should stay.

just to clarify if I vote for a guy 'like' Conroy I'm saying I want him back next year, or just that I want him beyond the trade deadline. and if its back next year, I can assume its at a salary I would find more reasonable?

Warrener, Yelle, Nilson, Hale, Primeau, Godard and Eriksson were my choices. How we get these guys off the books, I don't know, as most of them are still under contract next year, but if we do we free up ~ 8 million.

I'd trade anyone for the right price

For the player I'd actively shop, Tanguay and Aucoin. I'd move Warraner, Nilson and Primeau for nothing.

Difficult to answer without context.

I picked both Lombardi and Tanguay to stay, but if the return was really good, then I would pick them to be traded.

Maybe throw Moss in the mix too, that would be a good package IMO.

I didn't vote for Conroy coming back... but if he took a bit of a discount, I could see him coming back as well.

Funny how all of the talk is about Huselius and Langkow, but no one is talking about re-signing Conroy. Is it just assumed that he will be back?

I hope Nolan comes back for another year at a price similar to this year.

I think he's just not perceived as a core loss, which given his age I think is the right assumption. he has implied in the media that he would come back for nearly free so we'll see

I hope Conroy does come back. He still servicable as a 3rd/4th liner and seems to be a positive influence. His fitness level seems really good as well. His hands may have diminished, but as long as he isn't expected to be on the top 2 lines, I'm happy.

Conroy said he realises that there is a list of player Sutter has to sign and is patiently waiting for his turn. He has basically hinted through interviews that he would love to come back and I think he will more than likely take a pay cut to help the team, just like most already have who signed. (pay cut from what they could get on the open market that is) With his friendship with Iginla, the regret he faced leaving the first time.. and how much he gets along with the organization I can't see any reason why Conroy would not be back, or even retire with the Flames.

I wonder what Sutter thinks of Nilson and Primeau, two players that he extended. I wonder if he sees them still has solid contributors or if he has realised that he might have made a mistake. I also wonder what team would want either one? We might find someone desperate to fill out depth for a play off run... but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I messed up.. voted under the wrong impression.

I REALLY REALLY want Nolan back. I just like the cut of his jib. That and I love screaming OLD MAN NOLAN..

"Get off my lawn you little !"
"But Mr. Nolan this is ice, there's no lawn here.."
"I said git!" *flails stick wildly*

I think I said, Langkow, Iginla, Tanguay, Conroy, Nolan, Lombardi, Boyd, Nystrom, Moss coming back up front. On the backend Regehr, Phaneuf, Aucoin, Hale and Kiprusoff in net.

I'd keep Huselius too if it could work but I don't think it will. I'd shop Aucoin or Tanguay but the logistics of moving a guy with a NTC make it tough. Sarich doens't have a NTC and I think having him and Aucoin isn't going to work for this team next year given how much they had to pay Phaneuf. So Sarich gets traded.

Guys like Primeau, Warrener, Nilson who have contracts...I'd like to off them...but thats doubtful at best. Still I can vote to get rid of them.

In a perfect world....I'd keep Tanguay, Lombardi, Iginla, Boyd, Nystrom, Moss, Phaneuf, Regehr and Sarich.

Unfortunately contract demands make that unfeasible. We are stuck with guys like Warrener and Primeau.

I also hope Conroy comes back.

I hope Lombardi gets traded. I'm at the end of my wits with this headcase, but I'm not sure how Sutter feels about him. Maybe someone could brainwash him with visions of Nash, Doan, and some big ice.

For everything else, yeah, I think I agreed with most people.
