Last time we tried this -- playing our backup against a bottom feeder -- we got burned. Twice lucky? Or Twice burnt?
Joseph was bad against the Oilers. That itself isn't very surprising. Can he improve and adapt to the pace and detail-oriented game of the NHL? Kopitar and Brown will bury most of those juicy rebounds to the slot.

Joseph wasnt bad..the flames were bad
you want to start a guy who hadnt played in the NHL, you best not allow free access to the slot and a 7 minute PP.
Joseph wasnt great, but if the flames could possibly find away to tighten things up once and awhile, joseph played well enough to win.
Also it shows a good kipper really is

Given Kipper's solid performance on Tuesday, and the fact that he's had a few days off, I would think that they would like to build on any momentum he's created for himself.
So I say we see Kipper tomorrow. Next appearance for Cujo maybe part of the Coyotes/Stars back to back? I say he plays against the Stars.
Location: Chiefs Kingdom, Yankees Universe, C of Red.

If the game was in Calgary I would say yes. The Flames last trip to LA wasn't exactly a cake walk. Why jepordize two valuable points by putting in a 40 year old goalie who may or may not be able to play well enough to get the win?
Location: I ain't playing nose tackle in a 3-4 defence
Exp:
Yeah the Coyotes and Stars back to back is the best bet and try him against Dallas. Kipper always seems to only play so so against the Stars. Although...he also plays pretty mediocre against Phoenix too.

if they play like they did in SJ, they should see if the league will let them start both ...
who needs five skaters when on average 3.7 of them are just watching anyway. Load up that crease! One lies on his side the other catches everything high

lol, yeah Cujo doesn't start until the back to back game. Kipper played really well and has a few days rest so I dont see any reason to bench him.

Couldn't they suit him up as a dman and with two blockers. That way it would be legal and instead of top/bottom they could play side/side. They could play two dmen and two forwards. After all like you said one of the forwards is always asleep so it wouldn't affect them manpower wise.
kippers best games this year include just about every 2nd game of a back to back the flames have played....

Kerr mentioned this on his little show, this team just doesn't show up for their backups. Not sure why. Before Kiprusoff, we had a pretty damn good record with backups and backups were usually a wake-up call to the team, and the team would always tighten up defensively.
Not sure whats happened now.
