I've played guitar for 12 years and I stopped being a metallica fan after seeing how sloppily and mechanically Hammet does the soloes live, which was well before st. anger.
As far as shredding community goes, Hammet hasnt been relevant for at least 20 years. (I am fully aware Master of puppets is an absolute masterpeice, but life goes on)
I hear a lot of whooooooshing sounds. Kind of like....as if...maybe....somebody missed something......

Yah I thought that too Dis. Nobody actually click on the links the OP posted? They are spoof vids with sound dubbed over the original. The Hetfield voice over is classic.
OK, I can't deny that kill...., ride the lightning and master are great albums. Thats what they are are. If you are talking about mastering your guitar like a pro, you must listen Glenn and K.K on the Sentinel, Randy on the Train and Crowley, and John Sykes on everything he does, not some Kirk hammet that cant play his guitar properly other than in studio with 10000 takes.
Although someone is clearly making a joke in the clip that was previously posted, Kirk can't never be a great guitarist. Maybe he can play once a year like Glenn Tipton, but those previously mentioned can combine their skills to a lisenable form, something that Stevie Vai, Alexi Laiho, Yngvie malmsteen and Michael angelo Batio will never do.
I think even a monkey can learn to play fast but it takes a true genious and talent to transform it to something you can listen.
And to end my drunken rant, who ripped of who? Stone was first.
Is it my imagination, or is metal huge in the scandinavian countries?

I don't really know about Abba-sweden or Barbiegirl-Denmark, but i think that in Finland and Norway people know what real music is all about.
LOL.
