edit....some notes about the game....we had it in the first period, but Idaho's defense just clamped up and gave us no chances. We may have outshot them, but it was pretty wimpy stuff. 0-for-9 on the power play pretty much says it all. Cracknell looked great, played solid defense with a couple of picked pockets and at least one crushing body check. Cracknell played center for most of the night. D Mike Madill showed a lot of effort as usual, but some wimpy shooting from the blue line. LW Aki Seitsonen was nearly a third defenseman, playing back alot tonight. Good on the faceoff, very protective of the puck offensively. We just were second best tonight.

Brent Krahn returned to the nets last night, so I'd expect to see Kevin Lalande returned to Las Vegas very soon.
I hope so....not sure that Manzato can handle playing every night like this.
C Justin Donati was suspended from the team. I think he was already on injured reserve, so I don't know that we actually get a free roster spot with his suspension. And I'm not sure why he was suspended, but these things usually precede said player signing to another team in another league.

Oh, what a little googling will do. Donati is going to college and playing for UPEI.
No big surprise: G John Ceci was released today. Making room for Lalande, no doubt.
He played 3 games, had a record of 1-0-2, had a GAA of 2.21, and a save percentage of .911, which all seems fine and dandy, but our defense has been so sharp that I would rate against those numbers. On December 17th, he gave up 4 goals on only 18 shots and never saw ice time again for us.

As such, NHL.com's news page reports that Lalande as been returned to Vegas.

Kevin Lalande made 33 saves in his return to the Wrangler net as Las Vegas topped Stockton 4-1. Shawn Limpright had 2 goals and Tyson Strachan & Peter Ferraro each had 3 assists in the win.
The Wranglers [22-5-1-3] are in action again on Friday when they host Fresno.
Congratulations to our boy, D Tyson Strachan, who is now a Peoria Riverman. Well deserving of the promotion.
And congratulations are in order to our Head Coach Glen Gulutzan, who was named along with Victoria Salmon Kings (Vancouver Canucks affiliate) Head Coach Mark Morrison as the National Conference coaching staff for this year's ECHL All Star Game.
The profile on Gully as per the ECHL news release:
Glen Gulutzan, Las Vegas Wranglers
Glen Gulutzan is in his fifth season as general manager and head coach of Las Vegas. He led Las Vegas to the Brabham Cup championship in 2006-07 as the Wranglers won their last 13 regular season games to finish with a 46-12-14 record and 106 points, becoming only the second team in ECHL history to score 100 points in back-to-back seasons. Las Vegas won the first five games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs to tie the professional hockey league record for consecutive wins. Gulutzan was named ECHL Coach of the Year in 2005-06 after the Wranglers finished second overall with 112 points and a 53-13-6 record, tying the league record for second-most wins and finishing with the third-highest point total in the 18-year history of the ECHL. The Wranglers are 173-80-35 and have reached the Kelly Cup Playoffs each of the last two years and three times since joining as an expansion team in 2003-04, losing to the eventual Kelly Cup champion each time. Before stepping behind the Las Vegas bench, the 34-year-old Gulutzan spent four seasons as player-assistant coach with Fresno of the West Coast Hockey League. He was named All-WCHL in 1999 and 2000 and helped the Falcons win the championship in 2002 and advance to Game 7 of the finals in 2003. Gulutzan began his professional career in 1996-97 with Fresno and had a team record 80 assists and 110 points in 60 games while also playing in the International Hockey League with Utah and Las Vegas. In addition to six seasons in Fresno, the native of The Pas, Manitoba also played in both Finland and Sweden. Glen and his wife, Nicole, live in Las Vegas with their son, Landon, and their daughters, Emma, Brielle and Gracie.

LAS VEGAS - Whenever an altercation breaks out during a Wranglers game, Las Vegas left wing Shawn Limpright is usually the first player on the scene to support a teammate or settle a score.
Then again, there's a good chance the savvy six-year ECHL veteran instigated the incident in the first place.
Limpright, 26, enjoys being an agitator on the ice and said engaging in psychological warfare helps get him into his game.
"I like to get under a few guys' skin. It's always fun just to see their reaction," he said. "It kind of gets me fired up in the game. To have a guy running at me all game, that's fun. I like that."
