Default Pre-Season Centre Ice Online and Free!

http://my.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?us...7&post_id=2469

Great news, it looks like we'll be able to watch all the Centre Ice games for free during the pre-season online. This is a great move by the NHL and I'm excited to finally get a chance to watch some pre-season games for once.

does that include the Flames? and if so will the games also be shown on the TV version of Center Ice?

I'm assuming the games would have to be televised to be included. Check out the Centre Ice page, perhaps they have a schedule up for each team. I know the Oilers will have two televised games for sure (one against Toronto and one against Vancouver).

I don't know about Shaw, but Bell has been running a free preview in previous seasons, so if you have a digital box, you should get any exhibition games. I can't remember seeing any exhibition Flames games though.

This is one thing I will gladly shell out $150 for the whole season. 4 games at once? Playing proline.... sweet jesus in a handbasket.

So, since I have digital cable from Shaw, does this mean I can watch a few pre-season games? That would rock.

Watched the intro in full screen. Quality looks pretty good for internet, but hockey has to be the hardest sport to stream. I have Shaw regular high speed with a new, fast computer and good video card.
Does any one know if a faster connection would improve the quality?.

Here is the application form for pre-season action.

Also some sort of deal if you sign up for the complete package before Oct 9.

https://www.nhl.tv/team/secure/regis...product=SEASON

Be pretty nice if we could get a lot of people to sign up....and get some feedback on the site. I'm sure media type people will be watching what we say about it.

Could be the next step to get more people watching NHL games.

Thanks for the link. I signed up. Since I bought NHL CI through Shaw, I'm not going to pay for this too though. That's a bit too much for me.

Looks like they are showing the Canucks/Flames game on Wednesday night. Well, maybe...that might just be the schedule as well. Doesn't say for sure if it is on there or not.

I think it will be on.

I talked to a couple guys looking after the technical aspect of Center Ice Online....and they said the NHL wants to show as many games as possible in the pre-season....in order to hopefully attract more customers.

Very good idea, IMO.

Quick question....

Why couldn't the NHL make such an offer free for public viewership....but ad-supported?

I recently noticed that a lot of PC games were being released for free...but with ad-support. Why couldn't the same be done for online hockey games?

Very tempting. But if you're already paying $200 at home it's not such a great deal, for some people maybe.

You could get Center Ice at home and buy a Slingbox starting at $150ish and get more viewing options when not at home.

The NHL CI channel(s) haven't been added yet. This week they will be added. From what I've heard, Shaw will not be showing any pre-season games as part of the package unfortunately.

I just tried signing up and I am getting a validation error. So not sure exaclty what that means.

This is just for the free pre-season preview. But why wouldn't i be logging in from my billing address? Seems like they are trying to validate that you are customer or something and that validation is messed. I am a customer of shaw..

Anyone else signging up for the pre-season preview getting this error?
