HDMI is your best bet, quality is even higher than that of component. S-video would work as well but i'm not sure how the quality compares to component

EDIT: just noticed you said receiver. you are talking about video right, and not audio?

Your tv needs to have an hdmi input. If so, just buy an hdmi cable.

Also, tell Shaw what happened. They might replace your box for you.

Did youy click on Thor's link? It shows what the cable looks like; and you would need a suitable hole to insert that cable into.

DVI and HDMI are both digital ways of sending the signal. HDMI is "newer" and also transmits sound.

If both have DVI- then get a DVI cable and you are set; it is the digital version of Component.*

I recommend monoprice.com for a good deal.

* I know that technically isn't correct. But it gives the right idea.

DVI is what I have on my projector, you can actually buy adaptors to use an HDMI connection.

This might be a solution:

I will actually retract my earlier comment about getting the cable from Monoprice. Because there's more than one kind of DVI cable.

Go into Futureshop, and ask the salesperson what you need. Buy the cheapest one they have.
