After one of the most divisive elections in recent American history, much of the nation is still reeling from the emotional fallout of the campaign and the election returns.
Between the shear disappointment of the results and the election day NHLPA sabre rattling, it was terrible. I feel helpless on two fronts now, but only one really matters of course, the hockey.

Hahahahaha!!! That's hilarious!
Actually I have already moved on. The debate is over and its on to bigger and better things. What is Bush going to do? What is the next big crisis for the US to handle? What is Bush's cabinet going to look like when all is said and done? These are the things to be debated now. From my standpoint the debate ended the minute Kerry conceded. Do I still hate the Bush administration? Yup. Will I still second guess everything they do? Hell yeah. But do I care about John Kerry or John Edwards anymore? Nope. They're history. I like to discuss issues that are hot. The election was sooooo yesterday!
I'm interested in politics, but I wouldn't call it emotionally interested. In fact, I have to admit that I get a bigger charge out of debates on this site than I do when I'm watching results come in.
When those exit polls showed a clear Kerry advantage I was wondering how this site would be the next day. If that came through I think I'd be pretty calm about Kerry in the Whitehouse, but would be watching and hoping he wouldn't pull back on foreign policy and go back to an era where we pretty much ignore what's happening in that region.
Both men were decent human beings that would make decent presidents ... neither guy is what I'd call a natural leader, or true statesman, but I guess that's besides the point.
I gotta admit that late Tuesday night (aka early Wednesday morning) I was watching "The End" and it felt a little like watching the clock run out in Game 7 of the Finals a few months back.
But! 2 days later any emotion about the election is pretty much gone. The results don't make me happy, but whatever.
I still have a hard time even thinking about that hockey game though.
Guys like me are a little torn, disappointed Kerry didn't win with the Christian right in firm control of the domestic platform versus the welcome thought of Michael Moore having his armpits infested with the fleas of a thousand camels in a single night.

The whole politics thing has made me really irritable over the past month or so. In that sense I'm glad it's over but I'm really, really disappointed in the result.

One of many who is too boring; thinks that there should be rules regarding grammar in custom user titles, and also makes moderators wonder if there is a charachter limit here. I mean come on- you would think that would be a limitation in the software

I was far more disapointed and irritated by the Liberals winning in Canada than I am by Bush winning in the US. One of my coworkers, however, was a wreck yesterday, though I am betting that the jokes and jibes me and our boss were giving him didnt help...
