Default Rangers Shopping Jagr?

The New York Rangers are said to be soliciting offers for Jaromir Jagr. "Glen Sather is said to have told potential trading partners that he'd consider trading Jagr if presented an offer that "knocked him out." Any interested team would only be on the hook for $4.9 million of his $8.4 million contract (his former team, the Washington Capitals, still pay the rest).

Well, that would be an upgrade on our RW....but even if we could afford it, we'd sell the future to get it.

Man, Washington is still getting hosed on that contract? That's pretty crazy.

Jagr? I'll believe it when I see it, but he could command a substantial return.

Hopefully Sather doesn't get nostalgic and let the nepotism thing give Lowe Jagr for a substandard return.

Maybe Edmonton starts trying to build the Czech national team.

They do have to pay it but it does not count against the cap due to some pre-CBA grandfathering clause :\
