Heading to Ottawa is prospect Mark Mitera. While we had high hopes for the youngster, something had to be done to close the gap in the playoff fight we find ourselves in.
Heading to the Nords is speedster Geoff Sanderson. Geoff has a crap-load of experience, and still has a scoring touch. He should fit nicely into the Nordique's second line.
The second and third deals will be reported soon. The Nordique developmental squad took a big hit tonight, but the big team got better. A whole lot better.
The two other blockbusters started on the west coast. Jochen Hecht has has been aquired by the Nordique, along with Aaron Miller from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for former team leading scorer Sammy Pahlsson, Nick Folingo, and Duncan Milroy.
The next deal saw the Nords pick up reciently aquired Alexei Yashin from the New York Rangers, along with former short-stay Nord Brent Sopel for Jason Williams, Leland Irving, John Ericsson, and the Nords 08 First Round Pick. Financial considerations were also exchanged.
In one short day, the Nords traded a overwhelming chunk of their future for more help now.

As a result of todays trades, the Nordique have placed Eric Daze and Oleg Kavasha on waivers.
I don't think I'm done yet... I need a 3rd line C. I have a few guys available. PM me or find me online, but I may run and catch the rest of the Flames game here right away.

The 3 players I'd like to move in this deal would include:
V. Bure
K. Sauer
J. York
I can only move one or the other of the two defensemen, unless I get another D man back in the deal. I'm not saying I won't move anyone else, but I'd like to move these guys if I can.
Kurt Sauer has been moved to the Winnipeg Jets for uber-pest Ville Nieminen. This was done strictly as a cap saving move, and will see Ville spend some time either centering the 3rd line, or somewhere on the 4th.
With this trade, Jason York has become less expendable.
Val Bure is still on the block, along with D. Afenasenkov, Sniper Rico Fata, Darby Hendrickson, and John Sim. I'm looking to strengthen my last two lines. I'm good with keeping the players I have, but if the right deal comes along, I have no problems moving these guys.
Please don't try to make offers on the players I have aquired over the last 48 hours. I brought them in for specific reasons, and would like to see them in game action with the Nords.
Nice trades. You easily won the last 2 deals in my opinion.
It's not about winning or losing deals for me. It's about making sure both GMs are happy with the deal. Sure, I got the players that are making an impact now, but the youth that I've had at one time on my roster could turn out to be the next superstar down the road. I just don't have the patience to wait.
I'm glad that I found the right deal after sitting back and waiting for both to arrive, and I thank all the GMs that I've delt with over the last few days for smooth negotiations, and complete understanding if I didn't go with their offer.
for Jason Williams, Leland Irving, Jonathan Ericsson and 1st - 2008.
Rangers also agree short term this is a great deal for Quebec but Long term the Rangers really like the deal. Yashin is clearly the best player and Sopel is a pending UFA.
Rangers organization were after younger players and they are happy to acquire a good young forward in Williams, a great goaltending prospect in Irving and a good depth dman who has played a few games in the NHL this year and of course another first rounder in 2008....
