I was smelling a Flames victory until Dallas lost in the last couple of minutes last night to Vancouver. It's going to be a struggle now to beat a team that good two nights in a row.

Can we do it?

Go Flames GO!

We should have ALL the advantages. Stars second game in two nights. Flames are home and rested waiting for them. Stars are on a slide(yeah I know but let's pretend they are in free fall) and Flames seem to be waking up.

The table is set. They should win.

BUT I'm going to predict they aren't quite there yet. 2-2 tie.

Plus a loss in the shootout for a 3-2 loss.

If I hadn't of read that I would have been at the Dome wondering where everyone was. Better check my tickets a little more carefully.

What's with Dallas starting the backup against VAN??

Are we considered the better of the two opponents offensively now??

Anyway, I think we will go into this game prepared to play, and win a close one 3-2 against a slightly tired Dallas team.

Yep. Greasers vs Habs first game on SNW, then the Flames game at 8:00.

What I want to see out of this game is consistency. I don't care if they lose against this quality of an opponent as long as they come to the rink and play sixty minutes.

Then again, maybe this is just the opponent for the Flames to face now. I don't know.

I'm thinking an OT loss myself. But the team can feel free to make me eat my words tonight.

The Stars got a little robbed last night, with a PP awarded to Van with under 2 mins left. They had their backup in net, so expect Turco to be fresh tonight. The penalty killing for the Stars has been phenomenal of late, particularly on the road.

Now that NHL games are decided by special teams, it all sort of depends on which team has a hotter PP or PK. The Flames will have their work cut out for them.

To bad the game isn’t what it used to be. In years past we probably could have beaten down Modano and Zubov with a good forecheck, and taken advantage.

Now it is all up to the refs.

I thought he had got a defective tv. The technology was in its infancy. It took a long time to figure that one out."

I hope Sutter lets the boys play today and holds off on any deals he has cooking. I realy want to see them tested against an 'elite' team now that they are playing better.

Also I am glad to read in that article posted in the other thread that Hammer is working on his shot because Dallas has 26 GA, the lowest in the league, and they will be shutting Phaneuf down all night. So having that extra shooter back there will really help us out.

A little nervous about this game, with the Flames history against the Stars in years past. I was a little surprised that Turco didn't start last night, so with him starting expect a low scoring game. The Stars are ranked first in the league with a league low 1.83 GAA thats insane. Here's hoping the Flames can come out hitting and get a quick goal and build on that.

With the Stars playing last night and the Flames not playing in a few days, I'm hoping the Flames will come out hard and start a little streak of their own.

I hate to be negative, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas rested Turco because they see Calgary as the more winnable game. They probably figured Vancouver could be a loss anyway, so why not rest their starter and give the backup a shot... who incidentally played VERY well... that kick save was amazing. Of course, Dallas should have won last night if not for some real jobbing by the refs. (probably a make up for the game handed to them by McGeough v. Edmonton)

I think this game really shapes this month. Lose tonight, and any confidence from that lacklustre St. Louis win is won. Win, and its the next big step on the road to recovery.

They probably saw Calgary's stud goalie steal the back half of a back to back last week and thought they'd try it against the Flames.

Isn't Turco like 50-1-4 lifetime vs. the Flames (Yes it's an exaggeration, but we never seem to beat that guy and if we do it's a 1-0 win).

Flames can win this one but it's gonna be tough and require a 60min effort - something that has been lacking so far this season.

I'm expecting to see Tanguay's line keep their points streak alive and Iggy to get a point or two as well.....my prediction? 3-2 Flames over Dallas (as long as they come out hard and don't sit back after 10mins...)

LoL I hear there are Olympic scouts interested in Noodles after they caught wind of his performance .. incidently Toronto has inquired about him.

Ya Turco sure has our number, the guy is great though. One of the best in the league. It will truly be a goaltendes duel tonight at the Dome. Hopefully our defense first system clicks and we give Kipper some strong support.

Ive never predicted any game on CP yet, but here goes my best shot.

Ok.. So dallas is coming off a tough night in vancouver, where they played I might add there backup goaltender, looks like we will be seeing turco tonight, and he has been nothing short of spectacular against the flames, then again the flames are at home, and some of these players I believe are playing for there jobs, this will undoubtably be a good test for the flames.

I say, the flames win this one by a narrow margin (of course), im gonna predict 2-1, Flames down 1-0 early. Phanuef and Tanguay with the goals. Iginla gets 2 assists.

Turco plays well against Canadian teams. It will take a full 60 minutes of balls out effort to even be in this game by the end of it.

My prediction is that it will be entertaining, win or lose.

Tanguay is starting to come around - that 2nd line will be our first line point wise in no time.
