haven't been on the c-train for a few years now but when I was going to SAIT and riding it pretty much 5 days a week the one thing that really ****ed me off was the language you would hear.

Often I would be riding when School had just been let out so the train would be swarmed by High Schoolers. I could be sitting next to a mother with 2 small children and an elderly lady but do you think those damn kids would watch what was coming out of their mouths!

F*** this and F*** that...every second word was inappropriate

It's suppose to be that way isn't it? Not so, unfortunately. It takes forever for us to get out of downtown...why? Because we stop at lights and become congested while waiting for other trains. Not to mention the occasional idiot who decides to run across the train tracks while the train is coming, or cars that insist on stopping at the tracks because the light is green, but no cars are moving.

Actually the train is cool, but the coverage it provides blows. Take a look how small a part of the GVR it services. It costs a fortune to build. I think the latest expansion have all been light rail in nature, rather than the Lyle Lanley SkyTrains....

It also sucks to live near one of those stations. I stayed at a hotel by the Metrotown station, and the electrowhine of some crazy capacitors or some electrical gewgaw made the area sound like it was one large railgun.

LOL I am never going to be an environmentally friendly guy. This thread reminds me why I would so so so much rather drive my car to work and yep I'm the only one in the vehicle.

Man I love that move. NHL 2008 should incorporate it

One time a muslim woman was pushing through everyone and nearly tripped me, I turned to get out of the way and she ran into my backpack and her muslim friend sneered at me as if they were two Africans in the 1930s...they seemed to believe they were being persecuted

another time the train was packed and at city hall a young south asian kid was standing in the middle of the billboard by the door, those are wide enough to cater to two people standing against it and he wouldn't move over, so I walked in and slowly took over the half of the space and he said something smart ass to me and then I said 'well this isn't your train is it?'..we happened to get off at the same stop and he kept looking behind his back...he thought I was going to come after him lol

Or how about listening to people's converstations that shouldn't be spoke aloud on the train.

Going to school one morning, these two girls got on at Anderson station. They looked a little rough to say the least. They waste no time and one of them starts talking to other one about her drug problem, and being addicted to some drug (I can't remeber which). The other says "the easiest way to get off a drug addiction is to get pregnant (she was pregnant at the time), that's how I got off of meth (or some other drug, can't recall)." And she goes on, "Yeah it's worked for me a couple times."

So by now pretty much eveyone on the train is listening and I can sense the sketchyness everyone is feeling. And the girl with the drug problem says to the pregnant girl, "yeah, but I've already had like 3 abortions." I am almost fell over after that bombshell. And the worst part is the girls were maybe, MAYBE in highschool.

Ya, this is my big one. Just today these 6 guys got on the train and they were just going off. Talking about everything from hooking up with prostitutes, using almost every ethnic slur I can even think of, to how one of the guys stomped on some guys head the other night at a bar.

After living away from Calgary for five years, and this being my first day of work in town, needless to say I was a little shocked at that one.

I got stuck in the Train for about 20 mins a month ago, I guess there was an accident downtown.

It only took a few mins for 3 guys to start yapping at eachother about how they wish they had a beer, and how they were going to get some beer, and about the beer they drank before jumping on the train. And the beer they would drink tomorrow, screw it they were going to go straight to a bar to drink beer once the train started up again. Damn, beer sure tastes good, if I had one right now I would drink it right here in the train, uhhh huh!

Frickin' douchbages, I wanted to smash the window and get the f away from them.

I feel your pain. Or at least I used to.

I walk to work now because I can't handle transit anymore. I have lost 20 pounds this year (since I started "hoofing" it), and have been laughing my ass off for 3 pages now.

My fav so far is this gem:

Simply brilliant.

I thought he had got a defective tv. The technology was in its infancy. It took a long time to figure that one out."

I remember sitting on the train after a whole gaggle of high schoolers got on at Heritage. Literally 2 feet right in front of me one girl who couldn't have been older than fifteen was talking to her friend about how a guy lied to everyone at school that she gave him head (she acted as if she was being stealthy about her conversation by doing the whole "whisper yelling" thing ). She said she was mad because she hadn't given him head but had done that deed with two of his friends at a party. She then proceeded to talk about what she thought the first fellow's johnson would look like and how it probably wasn't like the kind she preferred anyways. The train was packed and she obviously thought that this kind of information was cool for public discussion. Needless to say, my mind was completely blown (no pun intended) and I wondered if her father really had any idea about who his little angel had become...

How about headphones, and the fact that I shouldn't hear what you're listening to from 15 feet away.

Plus, wouldn't you be embarrased if you're in your mid-30s (kind of looked like Kip from Napolean Dynamite), and everyone within earshot can tell that you're listening to JoJo?

Hey I think I was on that same train! I can't remember the details though. What direction were we going? What time of day was it? Oh yeah and what did she look like?

It was rush hour (about 3:45 pm) and I was going southbound. The "girl" was a brunette with a purty mouth... jk.
