Well I wonder if NHL Mike Morrison will suck this bad tonight. 5 goals on 12 shots.....Yikes. On the bright side Dan Fritsche gets a hat trick.

Thrashers get their mojo back !

The Atlanta Thrashers almost let one slip away today after dominating the 1st period of the game and leading 4-1. The Kitties clawed their way back into the game and Brian McCabe sent it into OT with a goal at 8:02 of the 3rd period. Jamie Langenbrunner sent the Cats back to the Egg Foo Yung just over a minute into OT when Jamie Langenbrunner popped his 15th of the season.
The Cats were given 2 out of the 3 Game stars to make them feel better.

Wild Pick up Big Win.

Just when it seems the Wild are going to totally collapse this season they pull out a big win against a divisional rival.

On Saturday afternoon Minny posted a 3-2 win over the Predators. Daniel Sedin, Rob Blake and Petr Sykora notched Wild goals and Dom Hasek has his 2nd consecutive strong game.

But GM Grant Farhall noted that the team still is in search of consistency.

"The key is what happens in the next 2-3 games. We really need to put together a string of wins here in the next period of time."

Kings win a Barn Burner down South

Tampa Bay, Florida - The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in a high scoring affair 7-4 in an exciting matinee matchup. The game was highlighted by a breakthrough game for Kings power forward Scott Hartnell who had a 5 point night with a hat trick. "I was really skating well out there today, and was able to put some goals in. I have my linemates to thank for that, they did a great job of finding me on the wing." said Hartnell during post game comments.

A win, but still little moving room in the Howe Divison. I think it'll be that way down to the wire.

WINGS SPANK NORDIQUE!

Hedberg puts up the goose

Johan Hedberg who has some pretty good sized horse shoes up his arse continued his stellar play by turning aside all 32 shots he faced today. Hedberg sports the leagues best average at 2.36. Oilers goalie Martin Brodeur's 2.45 gaa is the next closest goalie. Hedberg also has a strong .908 save % that is good enough for 2nd in the league behind the injured Thibault. With his third shutout of the season its believed Sean Burke is not too happy being reduced to the backup and may even spend some time in the press box later next week.

-Milan Hejduk notched 2 more points and has 6 points in 3 games with the Wings. However Hejduk left the game early and is listed as day to day with a sore muffin.

- Marco Sturm extended his point streak to 6 games and was named the games second star. He fired 9 shots at Quebec goalie Ty Conklin.

- Shawn McEachern has now turned the lamp on 18 times proving there is still some gas left in the tank. Can not ask much more from a guy playing most of the season on the third line.

- Colin White lead the way with 5 hits. This is the 7th straight game in which he has lead the team in this category.

- Detroit failed to gain any ground in the standings as Minny, Chi, winter-peg, the Ducks, The Canucks and the Kings all won as well.

- Next up is a game Monday night against division rival Chicago Black hawks.

MEET THE DEVILS NEW TENDERS!

JETS 8 DEVILS 6!
Jets Record:
30-28(2)-6=68 pts—8th in the conference.

Jet Goals:

GRATTON 17 (BONK, YOUNG)
BONK 16 (GRATTON, THERIEN)
RECCHI 21 (DEVRIES, BOUCHER)
WALZ 14 (RECCHI, TJARNQVIST) (PP)
BONK 17 (YOUNG, GRATTON)
WALZ 15 (BOUCHER, RECCHI) (PP)
CAJANEK 18 (DEVRIES, RECCHI)
NIKOLISHIN 9 (RECCHI, CAJANEK)

Positives:

Finally the Jets score some goals! The Jets fired home 4 goals in the first period and ended up with 8 on the night. Rick DiPietro was able to take the first of a few nights off with the team not losing any ground in tight playoff race.

Negatives:

Who gives up 6 goals to the Devils? Apparently Vitaly Kolesnik and Archie Irbe did. Jamal Mayers has also been placed on IR after the game, it appears Jamal will miss 6-8 weeks.

Player of the Game:

Winger Mark Recchi is the POG for tonight’s game. Recchi had a goal and 4 assists. GM Walsh made a few minor line changes and it sparked the offense.

Turning Point:

The turning point came before the opening face-off occurred. When both teams submitted their starting line ups it was revealed that it was going to be a battle between Morrison and Kolesnik. Vitaly won the match up only because Morrison sucks.

Up Next:

Tomorrow vs. the Sens!
