All right, lets start this off with some disclaimers.
Yes, I am aware that Conroy brought the Flames the hard hat from St. Louis.
Next, I'm not sure if this is new for the nucks, never seen or heard about it before.
Third, yes, i'm aware these kind of things aren't new.
But.....
Come on, after reading messages on the Nucks boards about how dumb the hard hat is, really, what hypocrites.
Plus, I like that the hard hat is for being the lunch box player, the hard worker. Has symbolism. Not some gold and fancy Jofa helmet, really, come on....
I don't think that the people on the 'nuck's board bashing the hard hat are the same ones who brought it to Vancouver.... Please don't paint all of a team's fans, players, and officials with one brush. These individuals are not hypocrites just because their team did something they made fun of our team for previously.
it seems to me to be more of a take on the Swedish Elite league's thing or atleast I think it was the SEL but one of the Sports in Swedish hands out a Gold Helmet to the mvp of the league, I think it was the SEL but I could be wrong, on it being the SEL it might actually be Bandi, but don't totally quote me on it, I remember my wife talking about it some years ago

yeah, that could be it. I think the gold helmet in the SEL goes to the league or team scoring leader. I can't remember.
hmm it's the canucks. are you sure it's a hard hat?? i'm pretty sure the hardest worker on that team gets to wear a white towel around his head during the post game interviews.
just found this using google it is the SEL,as well as the Finnish Elite league
* Elite Leagues - This feature is new to me. I don't recall seeing it before, but 1) I didn't have last years game and 2) this wasn't listed in the manual as a "New Feature". It does look interesting though. You get the choice of 3 different leagues: Elitserien (Swedish League), SMA-Liga (Finnish league) and DEL (German league). Ok, I had to look them up. What's cool here is that it appears that instead of just playing with a German team for example in the World Cup of Hockey, you can actually play within the whole German league in their venues. All having their own unique chants and jerseys and of course, International League rules apply. According to the manual: In SM-Liga, the top goal scorer of each team wears a Gold Helmet. To me that sounds interesting. I'm certainly going to have to play this mode further

It looks like a desperation move ,by the canucks,to address their lack of a team game. Reading there boards and the press they, the canucks, feel that they haven't put together a sixty minute game. TOO much talent.
Really it is just another bonding move. The talent will win games but to go longer in the playoffs they have to appreciate hard work.
I am positive that they hoped other teams picked it up so that it wasn't the canucks thinking this was a good idea. I mean the nucks would never try to emulate anything the Flames do,right?

The Canucks as a team have been together for five years or so, they are bonded. They are together as a team and you can tell. When one player plays well the whole team goes.
There is never a night were you can say "Well just this Canuck played well." They are either all going full-tilt or half-assed.
It doesn't surprise me in the least that the Canucks would have to look to the Flames for any kind of inspiration to work harder. Hard to imagine an elitist team like the Canucks would have to stoop down to the Flame's level.
What's next........they gonna fire Crawford and hire Brent Sutter?

You contradict yourself between paragraphs.
You missed my point - they have to appreciate hard work.
This is kind of retarded.. Sure Conroy brought the hard hat to Calgary but was it being done in St. Louis at the time? This is a lame attempt to be as cool as Calgary. Next the Canucks are going to be doing the stick thing Calgary does.

Call this pay back for all the teams that have stolen towel power.
Just wondering, what is the deal with the Canucks fans weaving a white towel?
Does that mean they surrender?
So confused
