Lots of potential pitfalls, which would have made him a very risky pick in the 2nd round and maybe even in the third. But at 109th overall, this is excellent value.
Quote:
There are a lot of elements to Ruzicka’s physical toolkit that are supremely likeable. Whether I think the hockey world overvalues size or not, there’s something to the fact that Ruzicka can skate reasonably well with his build. He’s a player who gets around the net and flashes high-level creativity on the odd shift. I can see a scout looking at a player like Ruzicka and pondering all his yet untapped potential and what his team could make of it if they chart the right course for his post-draft development.

again, with late round picks, its tough to tell...
but kid looks to have a high skill level, clearly has size...as his previously higher projections show, he has some of the tools... just needs to put things together on a consistent basis...

On Fan 960 he said he had the opportunity to sign a three year deal with the KHL, but chose to come to Canada instead. Really wanted to develop to be ready for the NHL game.

Needs to improve his skating to be an NHLer, but I like his upside.

Seems like a decent bet for the fourth round. He reminds me of Adam Lowry minus some toughness.

The 4th round, where flames grab their stars. Well done. Gotta love when center depth is handed to you on a silver platter

Like this pick, looks like he fell according to rankings. Really big and seems like a fair bit of potential. Seeing how our other late rounders have faired recently I think this could be good. Will be a nice project to keep track of, will be at the WJC too

HF: Do you have a favorite player or role model out there?
AR: It’s Jaromir Jagr. He’s been a legend as long as I’ve been alive. He’s definitely a guy I see as my idol.

He shouldn't mind playing in Stockton then.
