Los Angeles Kings GM Ryan Northcott has been in the "war room" for many days now as he and his staff work the phones with agents getting deals in before the deadline.
In the bathroom during a two minute break Northcott had this to say, "We inherited many many guys to sign, and while everybody in the big leagues are dotted, we got ourselves a few players in Manchester that we need on the payroll for next year."
Northcott's trip to Las Vegas had many in the club office shaking their heads. An anonymous Kings employee commented on the trip, "We made sure he had all the gadgets with him so he could still make deals, but he's a gamblin' man, and I think he got caught up in the lights...among other things.....Plus we speculate he may have been drinking heavily as well."
Time will tell whether the GM will make it.
"Look, we're going to be fine alright? Now let me go to the bathroom alone."
