Depends on what you feel is 'well' I guess.

My mom is in her 5th year of teaching and makes around 70k, doesnt seem too bad to me.

When she starts teaching in Alberta.

I believe first year teachers here start in the 50+ range.

Throwing objects on the ice is stupid, but doing it as a visitor on the HOME TEAM'S ice is just retarded.

First world problem.

For a third year anything there's nothing wrong with that.

What job in almost any industry would have great money kicking in by year 3?

Calgary Catholic teachers with a degree and post-degree B.Ed. make $55k in their first year of teaching. By the third year they are over $60k.

Perspective, I guess.

CP had me believing the average wage of a third year employee in Alberta was $120K.

I would definitely organize a stunt where he does something and everyone in the class pulls out a water bottle and throws it at him.

He was a giant ###### bag and seeing his dumbass get the boot was one of the best things i've seen at a hockey game. Must've sucked having 17,000+ ALL pointing at you and cheering when you got kicked out of the building..

and it was during play! in a 2-1 game! who does that??

In no way do I condone the guy throwing the bottle on the ice. That being said, you've got some severe anger issues. That's one of the best things you've seen at a hockey game? Really? Really? Granted you're in Phoenix, but if that was the highlight of your hockey watching life, you have been deprived.

Who does it? Vancouver fans throwing a jacket on the ice in game 7 in 2004. Yes, only dbags throw stuff on the ice.

IIRC public school teachers start at over 50k, although this is just based on the ATA documentation...

He was just near me, and it was hilarious! Seemed like a really odd time to throw the bottle, didn't understand why someone would be angry at that moment. So I look over and the whole corner of the arena is pointing at him, including several other fans in Hawks jerseys. At first he tried to deny it and point at random people around him, then you could see he knew he was busted. I loved it.

Just a very Patty Kane level classless move, appropriate for a hawks fan

It was mostly Blackhawks fans.. many of which pointed at tho logo on their jersey as though the guy who threw the bottle disgraced by doing that, which for the record are pretty awesome. At least compared to Wings fans. Zero issues with them last night.

Totally a random time to do something like that

fyp

IMO some teachers are overvalued as well...years of experience is not the best indicator.

I'm a long time reader of the forums, but have never really posted, but I thought I'd speak up here because I'm a teacher.

Teachers in Alberta start around $57K - $60K based on years of education, and go up to $95K - $100K also based on years of education. It takes 10 years to go from the starting salary to the max. (This is all easily accessible on the ATA website).

In my three years of teaching I have yet to meet a teacher that thinks we are underpaid. I have worked in several schools and worked with many different teachers. Alberta teachers make more than other teachers across the country, but most other professions in Alberta also pay much more than the rest of the country.

Hope that helps to get rid of some of the rumors... (Salaries, Time Off, The idea that Alberta teachers think they are underpaid...)
