Not an elite coach.
Hire the right guys and trust them...be involved BUT!
Different feel...3 years now..management and maybe owners more receptive for harder player moves to be made.
Keenan was pretty much a failure here, he was given very good very deep teams and turned them into terrible defensively, individually driven teams that had next to no team commitment.
He basically trashed Tanguay at every turn. Misused other players, and pretty much started teh Phaneuf slide.
We don't know what Keenan's interactions were with the flames owners and management team, but if you go by his past history probably not great.
I have a lot of trouble giving Keenan much credibility, he's more destructive then good, and he's relishing the chance to be in the spotlight and to try and vindicate himself.
Keenan was a terrible coach when he was here, he had no system in place, you could see it every time you watched Kipper facing odd man rushes, and 10 rebounds.
If Management made the mistake it was bringing flaciid Mike Keenan ininstead of Iron Mike.
