I was a believer last year, the same this year. I could have dealt with a loss last night, but a 3-0 stinker just seems to sting so much more. Really not sure what I should expect next year, the only thing to look forward to will be Sven joining the team, hopefully whoever we do end up drafting will show similar promise to what Sven has so far.

It's not even close to being in their own hands any more. All San Jose needs to do is get 5 points out of a possible 10 and it does not matter what the Flames do. You are deluding yourself.

Why is a matter of what San Jose does? Now, I agree the Flames don't have destiny in their hands, not by any stretch, but if they were to win 4, with a little help, it's still remotely possible.

Sharks go 4-1, finish 96, take 3rd seed

Kings go 3-2, finish with 94, take 7th seed

Flames finish 4-0, finish with 93, take 8th seed

Stars finish 1-3-1, finish with 92, take 9th seed....keep in mind Dallas finishes with VAN, SJ, SJ, NSH, STL....toughest sked of the bunch

Coyotes go 2-3. finish with 91, take 10th seed

Avs go 2-1, finish with 90, take 11th seed

This is obviously a lot wishful thinking, but it does outline that it's not like everyone else has to lose out while the Flames win out to get in.

the Flames winning 4 in a row is impossible though, they've completely given up.
