Flames beat the 2nd place Avalanche spoiling their chance to catch the Blues for the Division lead and keeping the Sharks within 2 pts of 2nd. The win also keeps the Flames within a point of 4th place and a home berth in the playoffs vs the Oilers. The win was the 7th in a row for the Flames, the hottest team in the CPHL heading into next weeks showdowns.
Kristian Huselius with 2 goals and Scott Gomez with 2 Assists did most of the damage, while Chris Mason picked up his 31st win in his last start to the season. Scott Clemmensen will get the final start of the year vs the Bruins today.
