Looking forward to tonight's matchup, these two teams are, as you know, duking it out for a lower seed playoff spot. The 'Hawks are a point down with two games in hand. In the broadest statistics, the 'Hawks are a higher scoring team and have given up less goals...but...it hasn't been the AMOUNT of scoring for or against, as much as WHEN those goals are scored and given up. TWELVE games the 'Hawks were tied or ahead entering the 3rd and got NOTHING from those games.
The 'Hawk PK is a total mess...that rubber eating pylon, Brent Sopel, is sorely missed. The 'Hawks are allowing over 10 more shots per game over last year...and is showing as a poorer plus/minus from the first two lines. Lower line Scoring for my Beloved has been comparable to last season.
Corey Crawford gets the nod in net tonight...he has meshed better with the D than has Turco, but is nothing more than a big, posistional type goalie...not particularly quick or athletic, he sets up early, and lets the puck hit him...he can cough up a rebound now and then.
Kane is still operating on a bad ankle, and has been struggling, especially on the back-check.
The team who's disipline breaks tonight will win this game...the 'Hawk PP is VERY effective...the 'Hawk PK is VERY INEFFECTIVE.
I am eagerly anticipating a good game, and appreciate the give and take with Flame fans here at CP.

A game or two skating alongside Jackman could do wonders for Bourque. He needs to get back to that hardnosed game that made him a good checking winger when the Flames first acquired him.
I agree. How could you play on a line with Jackman and not go balls to the wall? The man knows only one gear.
Winning this game would say alot. To other teams and to the players in the dressing room. Showing that these winning ways aren't just a fad.
I do not envy the weather in Calgary. I am enjoying a sunny afternoon looking over English Bay. Drive safe.

Hey FOSSER and thanks for the personal shout out... What happened to the wirtzsucks board? I tried to find it many times but I can never find it. edit: nvm I just found it!
The Hawks PP is deadly.... We need to keep them off the PP . I think if the Flames can stay disciplined tonight and keep playing well they can have a chance tonight.
Foss , good to hear from ya ... Keep in touch buddy!
