Icon48 The 2015 NHL Draft Combine - June 1 to June 6

The 2015 Draft Combine is next week! For the first time in history, the combine will be held in Buffalo.

Word on the street is 119 of the 120 prospects invited have accepted, with the lone exception being Ilya Samansov (who some consider to be the top goalie in this year's draft).

NHL Central Scouting invited their top 75. The remaining 45 were essentially voted by NHL teams (i.e. teams submitted lists of who they wanted at the combine and the 45 most requested prospects, besides the 75 Central Scouting invited, were invited)

Interviews with teams will be held June 1 to 5. Sometimes word slips out of who the Flames are interviewing. Flames usually interview around 50 or more prospects at the combine.

Physical testing has been changed a little bit this year. Majority of the testing will take place on June 6. In past years VO2Max and Windgate tests were done back to back on the same day. This year VO2Max will take place on June 5 and the Windgate will take place on June 6 with the rest of the tests.

Any word on why Samsonov said no? He was one of the players I was hoping the Oilers would take at #33 overall.

No word, but unless it is for a valid family/personal reasons, it won't help his stock. Russians usually need to convince NHL teams in these interviews about their sincerity on their desire to come and stay in NA.

So Connor has exactly 12 days to forget how to do a pull-up?

Connor has to forget how to use ice skates.

Why would McDavid even bother?

Is there any chance that it would affect his draft position if he didn't go?

Maybe if he told Edmonton to F.O and trade me in their interview.

His agent probably hinted at it ... which is why they totally revamped their front office and hired a new, respected coach.

I think the only way McDavid doesn't get drafted by Edmonton is if he pretends to have a debilitating brain aneurysm. Even then, it's the Oilers...

Plus, I heard they remastered their promo DVD into HD-DVD format. Sucks for them that Blu-Ray won. Whoops.

Bluray is already obsolete. So are the Oilers even after they won the draft lottery a 4th time in a row.

CCM and McDavid are hosting a special announcement next week....at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo.

Seems weird to host it there...

Buffalo would have the assets to make a trade thinkable.

Oiler fans would riot if they traded Gretzky McDavid. Chiarelli would be 100x more hated than Lowe/MacT ever were

Wouldn't it be ironic if McDavid 'tanked' at the combine? Hahaha

The combine is being held in Buffalo, so not that weird.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Just a marathon of interviews with teams.

Unless someone from nhl.com gets a prospect to do an interview, likely going to be quiet. Most media won't show up until the physical testing begins.
