Honestly, though, what's so upsetting about thinking the logo is terrible? It's nothing personal. I haven't said anything bad about Bingo, CP or the person that submitted the logo. I just think it's really... not well done.
The colors on the CP are inverted on each of the letters, which is very confusing and disrupts a person's sense of flow.
The hockey puck / chat bubble thing is an interesting concept, but the execution is 95% hockey puck and 5% chat bubble, so unfortunately the eye doesn't instinctively make that connection.
The pointy part of the chat bubble is perfectly centered. Why isn't it rotated towards the left like every other chat bubble out there? This is the biggest detractor leading to the unfortunate split mentioned in the point above. The puck looks like a puck; the chat bubble doesn't look like a chat bubble.
I'm nobody special, but I think I represent an unbiased person with an appreciation for things that make sense. I'm willing to bet that if the color continuity was sorted out on the letters and the chat bubble part was rotated towards the left to look like a chat bubble, a whole lot of people who don't like it right now would suddenly think it's not that bad at all.

I really like it because the lower case cp reminds me of the Silicon Valley episode where they mock logos with lower case initials. It's like this logo is a satirical response to that episode. So I approve.
I also really enjoy the spirit of the competition as it flies in the face of what jaydorn had to say about design competitions. All the better because it's a for-profit organization exploiting the resources of its user base.

I don't like the random color circles in the new letters.
I like the new logo overall, but agree that the color circles don't mesh with the current design of the site. If the "CP" were changed to solid red or solid white until the site is re-designed, I think it would look a lot better.

Except its sadly not a satirical response to that episode.
It is EXACTLY what they are mocking in that episode.
Lowercase initials, goofy coloring, puck that doesn't look like a puck, strange looking "chat bubble". Not a fan.
Oh well doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things and some people seem to like it, so whatever.

I feel a bit sorry for whoever designed option K - WON the vote and yet wasn't acknowledged for their hard work.
Personally the logo doesn't matter to me as much as the free content & discussions, like someone said at the end of the day the man who pays the bill gets to call the final shot.
How I assume they must feel after winning but not getting selected..

The Flames should use option K as their new shoulder patch when they announce they're going back to the retros full-time....just replace "Calgary Puck" with "Calgary Flames" and "Unofficial CF Community" with "Hockey Club" or something.
