Ah ok gotcha.. That would be fun. Love Gaudreau but I think the 1984 takes that battle

But all of them on a list and you vote them in round by round.

I would love to hear stories from each year pre-2000's and any thoughts.... the 3 goalie tandem of Kidd-Tabaracci-Roloson, Iginla vs Hoglund in their rookie season, etc.

Summer prospect ranking is my favourite thing on cp. Can't wait to see how this year's list shapes up!

Could do a One-For-One debate.
We have to trade 1 player to another team for 1 player. No picks or prospects or "untradeable", straight across deals. See what each poster thinks would be an good and fair asset to give up in return. Could do this after the Current Player Survivor idea to get the best 29 players/prospects that CP values or go in alphabetical order with 29 players versus trading partners in alphabetical order.

The most important question is:
Will Bennett and Ferland be on the prospects vote or not?

Of course. I don't think shore or granlund should be though. They've both played 40 games in a season.

For me Shore and Granlund have not secured their spots on the team and are still under 25 therefore they are prospects.
Looks like we need a "Definition of a Prospect" thread before we do the rankings

Can we do a silly version of this? (Best = immunity in round after, worst is eliminated?; may flip depending on scenario/wording); perhaps a silly and serious one simultaneously?
Create a list of questions, then pull them out at random each round?
For instance...
Rounds that don't have all players on chopping block

I think 25 is key for sure.
The games played thing is sticky ... I almost like a "are they penciled in yet?" sort of a line in the sand.
Monahan is young but he's clearly not a prospect. Granlund has played a lot of games but he's not considered a regular so I'd consider him a prospect given his age.
That kind of thing.

HF uses 65 games - it isn't perfect but it's consistent
And as for age, under 25 seems sensible

How about something like: Rate every 'asset' in the Flames organization in order of importance/potential toward being a contender/an eventual cup winner within 5 years.
Jam everything in one massive vote and see what CP collectively thinks are the most important things on the road to a cup. I think most would put Monahan ahead of say... Brian Burke... but would you rank Burke ahead of our 2016 2nd rounder?
I'd include every prospect still in the system, known first and 2nd round picks for the next 3 years (at least), Head Coach and Assistants, Management from PoHO to Assistant GMS. And all players under contract or RFA of course.
Maybe Ownership Group and the C of Red? Maybe fill out the list with lower draft picks until we hit 100ish things to vote on and then have at it for the next 100 days or so. Or until no-one can stand to vote any more.

Another idea... rate every major event in the oiler's last decade of debacle based on the amount of schadenfreude it brought you!

I also love the prospect ranking and it should be a close one this year other than the obvious pick at number 1. When looking at eligibility why not just go with players who are eligible for the calder? This means Granlund and Ortio are no longer considered prospects but arguments can be make they will never play an AHL game again so that's okay with me.
As a different twist on the prospect ranking I would like to see how the results would play out using preferential voting. You rank the top 15 prospects for example and if no one gets 50%+1 of the 1st place votes then the prospect with the least amount of 1st place votes is eliminated and those voters' second place votes are counted instead. This removes the arguments over someone winning with 30% of the vote and the elimination order determines the prospect rankings. It is time consuming to count however but I will see if I have time to give it a try after the official ranking is completed.

"2014-2015 Flames JFK Game" meaning "Where were you/what were you doing when...?"
Egs:
-Johnny scores wraparound against Jets that keeps him up with the team
-Johnny's LA hat trick
-Ottawa comeback
-When Boston got Schlemkoed
-GM 6 Vcr
Can be extended to include previous seasons and specific events, like:
-When Iggy scored in playoffs (first goal)
-When Fleury got traded
Should mostly include events broad enough to be recognizable to most CPers, but maybe some semi-obscure ones, like:
-where were you when Staios scored against The Chuck in Edm? (Personal favourite moment!)

Top 10 best and worst trades.
Top 10 goons.
Top 10 defensive forwards.
Top 10 unsung heroes
Top 10 hits (signings, drafting or trades that seemed trivial at the time but were big deals in the end)
Top 10 misses (players that were let go, or traded that we should have kept)
Top 10 whipping boys

bump!
Kicking off the prospect rankings this morning, just compiling it now
going with the under 26 and no more than 65 games rule, which keeps Jooris, Granlund, Ferland and Ortio in the mix.

Sweet! Not too sure about Jooris being a prospect. Is shore in the pool?
