Is "siging" the verb to sige (which isn't a real word), or is it the verb to the slang term for signature, sig?
Maybe he's working on his sig by siging so he's ready for a good looking sig on his new contract?

one question though...when ferland is signed, will we keep this thread going because technically, he isn't siged.

I guess that depends on whether we can determine if he does eventually sig at some point.

A guy who gets a chance and has so much passion for a team is very unlikely to jump ship so quickly. I doubt he leaves us, probably just negotiations. He's looking for more than a million. By how much is still undecided but he's probably well aware of the cap situation. Likely he signs in the next few weeks with an amount that leaves space for Gio, Monahan and Gaudreau.
I bet Treliving is working 12+ hours a day right now trying to get this whole thing balanced. If only we didn't have Stajan or Widemans contract.

True... could be an alternate spelling though. (As in a Dutch name misspelled by a Canadian notary.) I know of a family originally named Émond, from Québec. Out of 3 brothers, two had their last names spelled "Aymond" and "Amond" because they were born in English speaking provinces and their births were recorded by notaries who spelled the name phonetically in English.

If a guy that scored 28 goals for Ottawa got $2 million, this should not be that hard a deal to finalize. I can't believe either side wants a long term deal yet.

Bouma didn't get signed until August 27th last year.
Sometimes these things just take a while. Agent likely trying to squeeze out everything he can (which is his job).

Roger Millions @RogMillions
I hear #Flames and Micheal Ferland getting closer to deal. A little. Talked this week. Both sides may have to give in more than they want
Roger Millions @RogMillions
Ferland will be eligible for Salary Arb soon. Hearing his camp doesn't want to give that up. So for the player money needs to justify term

Really hoping for a 2-3 year deal for Ferland, preferably 3. 3x$1.25m seems fair for both sides.

A 1 year deal is fine with me. A little surprised flames seem to be entertaining something longer.

If they sign him to a 1 year deal and he has an impactful season, suddenly he has arb rights and can be offer sheeted next summer. If that happens, he could easily be worth 2m-3m next year. With how tight our cap situation is, he is the perfect player to take a little long term risk on if they can make the dollars work. If it were up to me, I'd sign him to a Bollig type deal and then ditch Bollig. He's already better than Bollig, it seems like such a no-brainer. Maybe Ferland is confident enough in his abilities that he is asking significantly more than $1.25m over 3 years. In that case, my position would be different, though I think I would still go up to even $1.4mx3 with Ferland.

That would be a huge steal for the Flames if they can get that done. I think it's going to be most likely one year and at absolutely at most two years. Way too much uncertainty on how Ferland will perform in the future for both sides to agree to a 3+ year deal.

I highly doubt he is wiling to sign for Bollig money over 3 years. If so that deal would be done.
He had an amazing series vs. Vancouver. Let's see how he does over time. Give him the Jooris deal.

I agree it would be a steal and probably won't happen. If it did though, I'm pretty sure reaction would be fairly mixed with Ferland only having 26 games under his belt.

I agree, though I would go to 1.4-1.5 to get him for 3 years. What would you consider fair for Ferland over 3 years? Not factoring in if you think he would sign for that or not.
