I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Well, why wouldn't they? If you get thrown into a boiling hot pot of water, you'd probably feel pain too.

Doesn't change my position on eating delicious lobster though.

Interesting article. I'll be sure to feel guilty while I'm eating my weight in lobster this weekend in Boston.

Reminds me for some reason of this Jack Handy quote:

I ate some bad shellfish once, and it made me feel pain. Payback is a biotch!

The more pain they feel, the more delicious their flesh tastes.

I imagine Shellfish feel pain when they're being crushed in the jaws of a natural predator as well.

One summer night about 4 a.m., with the windows of our rural home open to the weather, Mrs. Cowperson and I were awakened to some nearby, horrible, agonized screaming (no other way to describe it) . . . . . the death throes of a deer or elk being slowly dismantled by a predator. This went on and on and on . . . . .not nice by far, but a natural event nonetheless.

That's the food chain baby. Humans are predators.

^^^ well there is a BIG diff...predators in the wild, Im giving humans a break here, dont take nearly as many living things as we do. If humans are left to manifest their hunger in any way they choose we would have hundreds of species extinct by now.
Maybe we should change it up here....if humans had to hunt with their hands, feet and teeth the way natural predators do, I would be all for this.

Better then getting a crushed, impaled and sucked out of your shell by an octopus.

Octopi don't f*** around.

We did do that. Then we figured out a better way to kill.

You think that if Lions or Bears or cute little Koala's could design a killing machine like a gun, that they wouldn't kill us and feast on our flesh?

Pfft. You clearly know nothing about the Koala.

And humans are of greater intelligence and are cognicent that causing pain is wrong. Further, animals have no other means to survive where as you and I both do.

I'm not going to eat grass and soya cause I'm supposed to feel guilty for these animals.

As long as they're killed for food, I couldn't care less.

Just like a cougar wouldn't feel one ounce of remorse if it devoured my face and nutsack.
