Yup, these next 4 years will very likely go down as one of the darkest periods in American political history. As a Canadian I've been watching this gong show unfold with complete horror and disgust. I can only imagine what it must be like for you and your fellow Americans to see what's currently happening to your country. It's incredibly troubling.
Only if we place tremendous importance on things people say on the internet. In meat-space, it's extremely unlikely we see the kinds of widespread violence that erupted in the 60s, with dogs and fireshoses set on people registering to vote, dozens of cities burning, hundreds killed in riots, student protesters shot dead, leading politicians assassinated, etc.

Also great news for the rust belt and working class, Trump has added another Goldman Sachs executive to his cabinet. I hope those people like $4.25 an hour.
lol

That's not really surprising. It's pretty standard for the tv business. He won't have any actual involvement in the show going forward, but he's still contractually required to receive the credit (and whatever royalties come with it).
It would probably cost NBC more to buy him out than what he'll actually get paid as EP.

Turn up the good, turn down the suck!
The questionnaire, which one Energy Department official described as unusually “intrusive” and a matter for departmental lawyers, has raised concern that the Trump transition team was trying to figure out how to target the people, including civil servants, who have helped implement policies under Obama.
Quote:
Energy Department officials have not yet decided how to respond to the questions targeting the agency’s climate activities, according to federal officials who asked not to be identified to discuss internal deliberations.
“With some of these questions, it feels more like an inquisition than a question, in terms of going after career employees who have been here through Bush years to Clinton, and up to now,” said one current Energy Department employee. “All of a sudden you have questions that feel more like a congressional investigation than an actual probing of how the Department of Energy does its job.”
Michael Halpern, deputy director of the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Center for Science and Democracy, called the memo’s demand that Energy officials identify specific employees “alarming.”
“If the Trump administration is already singling out scientists for doing their jobs, the scientific community is right to be worried about what his administration will do in office. What’s next? Trump administration officials holding up lists of ‘known climatologists’ and urging the public to go after them?” Halpern asked, adding that lawmakers have attacked executive branch scientists in the past for doing “work they find inconvenient. It seems that they are about to get accomplices in the Department of Energy. But don’t expect the federal workforce to simply roll over. The new administration will find thousands of federal workers who still believe in their departmental mission and will work hard to resist attacks on their peers. Scientists outside government are standing by to expose these actions and fight back.”

The Edward Snowden/Wikileaks/R_TheDonald crowd are really having a tough time processing the past two weeks of events. Now that Trump is actually putting forth policy initiatives and not just spewing garbage 24/7, the actual vision of his administration is becoming clear, and it's more big business/elitist than Hillary would have ever been.
Pew research has Trump's approval rating at 41%. Lowest ever for a President Elect. And yet, probably the highest his approval rating will ever be.

How can you logically group those 3 things together?
To lump pro-transparency / anti-domestic spying people together with the_donald supporters is just mind boggling.
Because all three groups believed electing Trump would be the ultimate show up to the elites, and against neocons. 31 days later and the Trump administration looks very much like a textbook neocon elitist administration. Hillary was supposed to be the bad one, the one in bed with Wall Street and corporations. If she was in bed with them she was above the sheets. Trump and Co are the ones getting nasty underneath.
And by the way, would anyone like the guess which company is up 30% since Nov 8th, and whose gains make up 33% of the total stock market increase? Good old Goldman Sachs. They won yet again. Until they crash the economy yet again. But they'll get bailed out....yet again. And the cycle goes on.

I think you're just making a bunch of random baseless assumptions.
There are plenty of "left wingers" that are pro-privacy, otherwise killing C-51 would not have been adopted by the NDP last election.
President Barack Obama has ordered a full review into hacking by the Russians designed to influence the 2016 election, White House Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Adviser Lisa Monaco said Friday.

Some of the questions may be that though the DOE isn't related to climate science at all. On the other hand from Bloomberg, many of the questions seem reasonable, ranging from how best to ensure the most important source of low CO2 emission electricity in the US (nuclear) remain running, to whether the cost of backing up and transmitting unreliable electricity generation is properly accounted for to whether the subsidies and loans to new technology were successful.
So after a quick visit into Trump cult land, the spin on the latest Goldman appointment: They don't own Trump, Trump now owns and operates Goldman Sachs and will be telling them what to do....

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People seem surprised by his cabinet picks...its pretty much as predicted
As predicted? I guess it depends on which narrative you were believing. If you believed the narrative that Trump was going to moderate toward the center and act more presidential, then his picks have been shocking. If you believe the narrative that Trump is a raging clown, and these are just more passengers for the clown car, then you're not surprised. Me? Not surprised, but doesn't change the bitterness of watching the development of a cabinet that is going to drive my country into the ####ter. Has Trump selected one person who has the experience and credentials to lead a single portfolio?
