First episode of Constellation on Apple TV was spectacular. I really hope they don’t screw it up.

Thanks. Will try this
AppleTV is making better television than anyone else right now, and it's not even close.

It's like the showrunners couldn't overcome the problem of all the main characters being masked for virtually all of the action sequences. So they decided to spend a ton of time outside the airplanes doing... stuff.
I'm a huge vintage aviation guy, and massive WW2 honk, and instead of interesting stuff like that they focus on bike races in the mess hall, and the nearest skirt, and the cute kid with the robot arm.
Like they fly to Africa. Land in the desert. I'm thinking "hmmm... I wonder how they are getting home? Planes all shot up and occupied Europe between them and England".
Next episode - back at their base, a few weeks later. Talking to girls, travelling around, discussing promotions. Not a word about it. Barely an inconvenience!
This show should have been a 10/10 for me. I grant that it's not over yet, but I'm super disappointed so far.
(That said - the guys with the resistance storyline are the most compelling IMO - great stuff there, real tension.)

Definitely plan to watch this. Liev is one of my favorites too but I really like Pablo as well. He was awesome in the Dockworkers season on the wire.

I've been reading a lot of positive feedback about "Tokyo Vice" (HBO Max...Crave streaming) and, even though some folks said it was a slow show, I'm really liking it. The whole story line is very engaging and the actors are doing a fabulous job. The location of the show is also great - a nice departure from the shows that are set in North America and Europe.

Tokyo Vice is great. Season 2 is holding up well to season 1 as well.

I've watched all of the 3 available episodes now and I'm liking it. Slow moving but felt like it started to hit its stride in episode 3. Interested to see where they are taking this - given they are hitting us over the head with clues about what is happening.

Agreed. I really love the creepy sci-fi vibe so I’ll definitely be sticking with this one.

Holy shiet. I've been waiting for 25 years for them to make this onto the screen. 1 of my favorite actors in Hiroyuki Sanada, and I absolutely love Anna Sawai.
Watched the first episode this afternoon, and was utterly blown away. Granted, Ive always loved feudal Japan. But this show... They nailed it on that first episode. Will be watching the second tmw.

I really enjoy the show.
I think it does a fairly good job of showing the terror these guys lived with 24/7.
Comparing it to other WW2 shows isn't fair, it wasn't the same type of war.
I've enjoyed the show and have found myself really invested in some of the scenes, which doesn't usually happen to me.

There was one scene that really struck me, they're landing the plane after returning from a mission and the look on the Pilot's face was just haunting.
That guy really sold it.
So I agree that in that sense they're really conveying that message.

It was a Hulu show, so people might have missed it, but a few years ago they did a Limited Series for the novel Catch-22 which is based on a Bomber Group in the Med during WW2.
It's far more of an absurdist dark comedy but really catches the.. absurdity of strategic bombing in WW2 and worth a watch. Great cast too.

Like all the characters except the main English guy.
His face is weird and his voice is grating.

Absurd fits Catch-22
Catch-22 is a fictional story, although the absurdity of it is on point.

Apple TV might be the best streaming service right now.
Lessons in Chemistry was excellent.
Now I’m on to Silo and I’m loving it. Funny because I read the first book and gave up because I didn’t like it. But it’s legit good. Makes some bold decisions after the first couple and then almost feels like it started over, and 3-5 felt like it was slowing down but it picked up and I’ve binged the rest over the last couple days. Highly recommended.

Interesting, as we watched Silo and now I grabbed the trilogy to give it a go. Haven't started yet though, another book ahead of it in the queue.

My kindle says I’m 67% thru the first book and that was actually on my second read thru. I’d previously given up after about 40% 10 years ago when I bought.
But now that I’ve seen the show I’m determined to finish. I read the synopsis for the second book and it actually has me excited so I think I’ll keep going. Or try at least.
