Tanguay has a unique ability to play like a stupid idiot at times, and rack up points regardless.
I cheer for, and yell at him in equal amounts, and absolutely love it!

Best bargain veteran contract in the league. Better than a point per game and I really don't think he's playing very well yet. Hartley will get more out of him than any other coach would.

Hartley wanted leadership from Tangs. And leadership he got. I actually think he may be one of the few flames that are legitimately underrated.

Not a lot of love here. Credit where it's due, people. Without Tanguay as catalyst, we're 0-for-2013. Kick it, a-tang!

I like his production but i'm not really thrilled with his play.
He forces way too many difficult passes, looking for the highlight reel play. Sometimes I just think he should just take the easy play of putting a puck on net and hope for a rebound, especially when he's playing with both Iggy and Glencross, two big boys.

I feel like I've yelled shoot it more times at Glencross this year than Tanguay. It's almost like Iginla has to give him permission first before he shoots it.

He's fantastic and wildly under-appreciated. Just watching him make passes to the tape so easily around hard checking defenders is incredible. He's scoring at a pretty good clip this year, too. Center may actually be a better position for him. I wish Cammalleri was back in the line up because that is a line that would be very dangerous with all three of them going.
Keep it up Tanguay!

Tanguay is a high frustration/high reward player. Many times like tonight, he does nothing but force the pass to Iginla and causes turnovers and you end up yelling ''shoot!'' at the tv all night long. Other times like tonight, he comes through in the clutch and next thing you know he's all over the scoreboard and wins you the game.
I can live with his love of passing/lack of shooting, as more often then not it ends up being a good scoring chance for someone. He's quite the player though. Hartley road him like a horse tonight (+24 mins) and it paid off.

I think we will see a resurgent player this year. This is a year where he truely looks like he's happy because he knows what his coach wants of him and his coach also thinks highly of his abilities and is willing to trust him.
Hartley has said many times that Tanguay was always calling him to come coach the Flames. Those two have a long relationship going back.
You can tell how important the coaching relationship is to him because of the year he requested a trade because of Keenan.

Tanguay is frustrating at times with the turnover at the opposition blue line, but he brings way more positives to the Flames than negatives.
Great playmaker and this year it appears Iggy and Tanguay have reversed roles.
Hey whatever works he is rolling.

said it before the season and I am more sure of it now: Tanguay will have a huge season under Hartley and will probably be a point per game player, or very close to it.

I think Tanguay is on a decent contract dollar wise - a bit too long for my liking but not really a massive bargain. He is a 55-65 point player in the NHL who is creeping up there in years. The worry about his contract isn't the initial value but the value over the last two years of the deal.
Dustin Brown, Alexandre Burrows (current contract of 2 million/season), Letang, and Giroux are players not on entry level contracts that are better deals just off the top of my head and I think Clowe has a really good contract as well.

you guys noticed him poking the puck to Gio for the Flames fourth goal in Detroit? He didn't get credit with the assist either. I wonder if the NHL will correct that or did he just not touch it at all?
