Hans Zimmer is hands down my favourite composer of all time. He's just an absolute master. I think my favourite score of his is Gladiator, but to be honest most of his scores pack an emotional punch. The Nolan Batman movies, Interstellar, Inception, Dunkirk. Those two obviously work well together, but even fun, dumb movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, Man of Steel, Dune etc. are all incredible. I mean, Mission Impossible II is a terrible movie by all other standards, but the score by Hans Zimmer almost makes it worth watching.
60 minute had a great piece and interview with him about a month ago.
Interstellar (Hans Zimmer) and TRON: Legacy (Daft Punk) are, IMO, as close to perfect soundtracks as you'll probably get. I still listen to both years later. Daft Punk NAILED the TRON one.
Honourable mentions to Man of Steel, Batman Begins, Battle: Los Angeles, Top Gun, John Wick, Pacific Rim, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Rocky IV, and Creed.

I was going to say, anything by Ennio Morricone. Here's my favorite of his in context of the actual film.
To set the scene, the character is a now famous film director who grew up in a small Italian town and befriended the projectionist at the cinema. The local priest would preview films and note any scenes of kissing and force the projectionist to splice them out of the film so nobody would see it. After the projectionists death, the director returns to town and is gifted this reel left behind by the projectionist. Set to this music, along with the reaction from the actor, it makes me cry every...single...f'ing...time.
That's the power of a great piece of music in film.
Huh, I guess there's a tiny bit of nudity, so it's age restricted. Click the link to watch.

HM to Toundra’s re-score for the 1920 film The Cabinet of Dr Caligari.
And kind of in its own category but Songs in the Key of Springfield is a classic.
Lots of Reznor there. Did you happen to give the Mank soundtrack a listen? He did that one as well but recorded everything using instruments of the period. Pretty cool:
