Default Estimated Point Totals for the Upcoming Season 17/18

What's your estimated and hopeful point totals for any Flames roster player for the upcoming season?

Johnny: 27g 48a 75p
Money: 32g 34a 66p
Tkachuk: 22g 25a 47p
Ferland: 17g 29a 46p
D. Hamilton: 13g 36a 49p
Gio: 11g 27a 38p
Bennett: 18g 20a 38p
Backs: 14g 27a 41p

I don't know what point totals will be considered successful. I'm hopeful Johnny even gets into the 80s range bumping up the first line totals.

I would like to see Johnny get 31 goals, Monny get 40, bennett get 25, Tkachuk get 20, Hamilton get 20, and Hamonic get 12, also wanna see some prospect make the team and play (Jank or Foo, or anyone else really) at a .5ppg, however finishing near .7ppg.

Gaudreau (33-51-84) - Monahan (35-33-68) - Tkachuk (22-31-53)
Bennett (20-24-44) - Backlund (14-19-30)* - Frolik (10-17-27)*
Ferland (16-11-27) - Jankowski (13-26-39) - Versteeg (18-21-39)
Stajan (7-11-18) - Lazar (9-15-24) - Brouwer (12-9-21)
Hamilton (2-6-8)

Giordano (12-28-40) - Hamilton (17-31-48)
Brodie (6-39-45) - Hamonic (4-17-21)
Kulak (3-14-17) - Stone (7-16-23)
Andersson (1-6-7)

Smith (40-23-4, 2.39 GAA, .918 SV%)
Lack (7-4-3, 2.68 GAA, .911 SV%)
Gillies (1-0-0, 3.00 GAA, .903 SV%)

* = shortened season

Ferland proves too inconsistent for top line. Jankowski makes team, ends up playing part of the season in Backlund's spot due to injury, does well (basically Backlund 2.0). Bumps Bennett to wing and he clicks there. Versteeg has to play up also due to Frolik missing time. Lazar spends some time at 3C and manages to put up some points. Brouwer becomes a grinder RW that can pot the odd goal. The top line rebounds from last season and Johnny Hockey returns to form. As does TJ Brodie.

Smith proves a more than capable starter behind a defence that makes life easier for him. Dresses for 67 games. Lack is passable when called upon.

48-27-7 - 103 PTS
2nd in PAC

I sure hope Brodie can break 40 at least. 2 season ago he was on pace for 52 points. A Brodie who is back to form should be able to get close to 45-50, especially paired with a decent partner.

I just love looking at the offensive potential of the Flames D. Some teams only have 1 D who can break 40 pts, 2 if they are lucky. Flames have 3 legit defenceman who can/should break 40 and probably get around 50 each if everything goes right. Hopefully GG realizes that Hamilton should be a staple on the 1st PP unit right from the get go. The sky is the limit for him.

If the Flames had 4 centers scoring between 36-76pts otnis going t be a hell of a good season.

Yeah.

Realistically though, even if some of those projections were possible in a vacuum, there just wouldn't be enough minutes for them all to happen together. A team hasn't scored 282+ goals since the 2010 Capitals (313 goals!)

I imagine Brodie will have more autonomy this year being paired with Hamonic. You could even notice the change in his play when he got put with Stone.

With Engelland/Wideman - 0.39ppg or ~32point pace
With Stone - 0.57ppg or ~46point pace as well as 4A's in the playoffs.

I am 100% confident that Brodie will have another outstanding season.

*I honestly am not too worried about most of the guys on the team. Guys like Gaudreau, Monny, Backlund, top4 D will all be solid contributors no matter what.
The 2 players more than anyone else I'm really rooting for are Bennett and Ferland. If both of those guys breakout this year, holy #### we're gonna go far.

Hamilton leads the D core with 55-60, I don't think any other D break 45 points

I really hope Mony gets 40+ goals. I think a hatty is long overdue as well.

I hope Johnny breaks 80+ points too.

I do think Johnny bounces back to finish in the top 10 scoring again this year. Going to say 85pts.

I can see Tkachuk struggling a little but this year. I see him finishing with similar numbers around 45pts.

Monahan gets over 30 goals again this year and flirts with 70pts but finishes just shy with 68.

I am going to predict Bennett status the year off blazing, tails off, and then finishes strong getting 50pts

Now for the D I think Dougie tops 60pts this year as he continues to take steps forward. Gio also keeps up his strong play getting 40pts. I think Brodie will flirt with 50pts but fall just shy. Hamonic gets between 20-30pts but his impact on Brodie's game is the main reason TJ sets career highs.

I guess I could understand an injury shortened season for a player who is prone too suffering injuries on a regular basis, but I don't get why one would make such predictions of one player who has only missed a single game in the past two seasons, and another who has played +80-games in three of his last four years.

I dislike your predictions. Backlund and Frolik should be expected to play +70 games.

... As for predictions, I think Gaudreau flirts with 80 points, and Monahan hits 70. I think Ferland scores 20 goals, but that no other forward reaches the 50-point mark. I can't see Hamonic getting near the kind of totals that some are projecting.

Hear this, if the league does in fact finally penalize slashing to the hands Gaudreau will push 90 pts and Monahan will love the sweet passes hitting 40 goals

I think Backlund, Tkachuk and Bennett all have the possibility of hitting 50 points.

I think Hamilton 'breaks out' offensively big time this year. I use this term loosely as he's already producing at a high level. 15-20 goals and 40-45 assists would not surprise me in the least.
