Not surprising in the least, but I'm quite relieved to read that.

Amazing job, CPS. Great job, investigators, jurors.

I worked with Nathan's Dad years ago, this one has been hard to follow. I hope they get some peace with this verdict.

#Garland is sitting still - looking at the judge - shows no emotion

Hopefully this provides some degree of closure/peace to the families involved. What an awful thing to go through.

Not allowed to even talk to them, but you can bet every person in this court - bar #Garland - wants to hug the jury for that verdict #guilty

Agreed, and I would add in judge, prosecution, and yes, even defense counsel. From what I could gather, everyone did their jobs well.

They would most likely have to lock Garland up in solitary confinement?

I kind of hope they forget to do so for 15 minutes.

Very pleased with all the verdicts, and hopefully this is another step forward in healing for the families. The guy wouldn't last 5 seconds outside of solitary. But solitary is exactly where I'd want him. Death is too good for him. No contact, no nothing for the rest of his miserable life.

In your mid-fifties and this is your lasting legacy? Beyond incomprehensibly stupid.

It's automatic life (25 years). Right now the jury is discussing if they want to give the judge a recommendation if it should be consecutive or concurrent, but the judge gets the final say on that I believe.

I would guess they would need to keep him segregated, yes. It might be more convenient for all involved if they just forgot to do so, however.

that would be the max if the Judge decides on consecutive sentences right?

Yes, it would be the longest sentence ever given out in Canada.
