That wind going home was terrific from downtown to the zoo. Then it sucked. Had to lean to the left the whole ride home so I didn't get blown over.

Similar crappy wind this morning. Not as bad but it was all headwind coming from the south.

You should have a nice ride home though, forecast is for north wind all day.

Yeah, not a fan of the wind this morning. And of course today my car is at the dealer, so I'll be taking transit back to get it and not riding. I'm sure the wind will shift to being from the SE tomorrow afternoon in time for my ride home.
On a positive note, I made it up the Lynnview hill this morning without stopping. First time accomplishing that on the morning commute. Somehow still not my fastest time though.

I've had a near miss at the exact same location, though in my case it seems like the driver simply wasn't paying attention. It's crazy considering cycling speed is the same as the speed limit there...couldn't possibly be more than 3 second delay to wait for cyclist to pass before taking the exit.

That was a pretty fun ride home. 13 PRs that I won't be able to beat again without a tornado behind me.

The wife bought me one of those Oi bells as a gift. She got it as a kickstarter vs a retail bought one.
It looks cool, but I'm not sure about how well it works. The metal nub on the striker is small and off center swipes produce a wimpy "ring" as the nub misses.
It's also very strict on bar sizes - size small only works on classic sized bars and won't work on my MTB flat bar or drop bars.

Installed a new app called Relive. It grabs your Strava info and created a 3d video of your cycle path. Kind of cool, but for anybody commuting it will get old pretty quick.

I had one of these bells for a while, it is really nice because it is small and unobtrusive on your bar, but that button/spring combo eventually became caught on something and the spring got stetched and that was the end of that bell.
found a more traditional style one in the tickle trunk and it produces a far more manly "ding"

I have noticed that with the Oi bell too, I have the smaller size on my roadie and you do need to hit it just right to get the most sound out of it. Still doesn't matter when the pathways are full of earbud wearing users...

Pro tip#1 - if you are rounding a corner really fast, make sure that pedal towards the turn is up, not down.
Pro tip#2 - when you lose control and decide tall grass seems like the best place to crash, there could be debris like road signs and a wooden sawhorse in there.

Nope, that was me. Going under Deerfoot towards Douglasdale- heading towards the driving range and I was going 25-30. Still made it the remain 8 km home. I have decided that my arm is likely not broken.
