I am really enjoying the pizza from 4th st pizza, on Edmonton trail and 20th ave. My wife is a vegetarian and I am so very not, and this place does a very good pizza regardless of which side you pick. Their cheese is much better than most. Plus, it's pretty cheap, under $20 for an x-large.

i like the "often imitated - never duplicated" Olive Grove Pizzeria on douglasdale Blvd and Deerfoot. I can't say if it is the best because sadly I have not sampled every pizzeria in Calgary.

As far as i am concerned, the best pizza in town is at Bella Roma in lakeview. The barstaff can be a bit bitchy at times, but usually they are pretty good and the pizza is second to none. They also have daily happy hour from 3-7

I asked for white gravy @ IHOP when I was in town at Christmas and they had it albeit it was for Chicken fried steak. Imagine the look of shear disgust on my wife and her family's faces when I took the bowl of gravy and poured it over the biscuits. The gravy was horrible but hey at least ya'll are moving in the right direction

i'll throw another vote to Atlas pizza if you're close to the area. Since i'm in the NW, i'd have to vote for Varsity too. Not as good since the new owners took over a few years ago but for the price it's .
I haven't been there in years but Van's pizza on 17th sw used to be good. although they were hit with some pretty serious health code violations last year so maybe not so much anymore.

Varsity is real greasy. Under new management too.
Spiro's is real good IMO. Sophie's is an off-shoot of Spiro's.
FATS has the best pub pizza around.
Oakridge Pizza used to be great - is it still around?

The Saskanese swear by Western Pizza which is over in the Coventry/Country hills area. I can vouch that they have much better pizza joints in Regina than they do here, but have never tried this Western Pizza chain.

I've been meaning to go there for 2 years. Every time I pass it on the ctrain and see their "best pizza in the world" sign I want to barge in and scream "You did it! Congratulations! Great job everybody!".

I can assure you I am not a filthy Saskanite, but Western is awesome imo. The Spicy Luau (pepperoni, pineapple and peperoncini) remains my second favorite pizza in the city behind Boston Pizza's Tropical Chicken.

Each slice/square is almost a meal, 3/4" thick deli meat. They were much better before they started using cheaper deli meat. We stopped ordering from there for that reason.

Famoso. It's truly amazing thin-crust, hand-tossed pizza.

I've never understood the fascination with thin crust. I always like my pizza to have a nice thick crust. In fact, the crust and the sauce are two of the biggest factors in me liking a pizza or not.
Admittedly though I have never been to NYC, so maybe I just haven't had exceptional thin crust before.

Yeah I'm not a huge thin crust fan, either. But if I'm going to have thin crust I like Tom's House of Pizza.
Just don't order feta there. Instead of a nice little sprinkling, they substitue mozz for feta...the whole pizza is covered in a thick, disgusting layer of feta cheese. It's inedible.

Still there and still making great pies. Ordered a couple of wheels from Red Carpet at Mayfair Place a few months back. They were yummy.
