The drawback is obviously that you can only use the card on Westjet flights or vacation packages, but I find that your Westjet dollars build up fairly quickly.

As well, the $250 signup bonus and the $99 annual companion flight (with no date restrictions) is really nice to have around peak travel periods where flights are very expensive.
I was hoping to use the companion ticket for a trip to Hawaii but found out it was excluded.

Alaska MBNA card has a similar deal and the companion ticket is good for Hawaii.

Can't use companion ticket for Hawaii for sure. But if you want to maximize the value of companion tickets, flying to NFLD or East Coast is the best thing to do.

There is $75 annual fee, but definitely worth it.

I could not believe it when I saw this. It is too generous. Amex is really trying hard to gain customers.
Got approved for my second one. Will use it for vacation booking to reach the $5000 spend.

For Hawaii, $299 plus tax which usually comes to about $500 does not look hot.

I am going to be giving up my TD VISA, after being with them the 12 years. I've had a couple of their cards, but I've had the TD Travel infinite since about 2008. The reward was 1.5% of purchases could be redeemed for travel. What I was unaware of is they changed the value of the rewards. I had a current balance of 260,000 points earned giving me $1,300 in rewards. I booked a $400 flight and went to their site to redeem 80,000 points. On the site I was told it would cost me 100,000 points, as I booked outside their expedia site. There was a change in November that I hadn't read. I called customer service to inquire, and they said there was nothing they could do. The value of my rewards had been cut by 20%. I applied the 260,000 points against a purchase for $1,040, and will be spending my purchases on another card. I hate booking through expedia, and I don't think it's fair that my earned rewards were discounted after I earned them.

The 75,000 miles seem nice, but the $699 annual fee seems excessive.

The companion flight itself is worth more than $700.

Then the open bar lounges. If you travel a lot, you can easily get $700 of value from it.

Also yeah sucks about the TD Visa. Have you found expedia to be significantly more expensive than other places? I still book mostly through expedia so the 20% reduction hasn't hurt me yet, but was curious on your experiences.

What are the minimum income/revenue requirements for a business platinum card?
